    The inflation rate in Germany, measured as the year-on-year change in the consumer price index (CPI), stood at +7.9% in May 2022. “The inflation rate thus reached an all-time high for the third month in a row since German reunification. The main reason for the high inflation still is price rises for energy products. Even a bottle of natural water has doubled or tripled on the German gas stations. Go figure (:

Although due to higher energy costs it makes sense that some items has increased in price the manufacturers and resellers do not waste a good opportunity to increase prices beyond reasonable levels.
