US and Taiwan to develop new trade initiative
After being excluded from the US Indo-Pacific economic initiative that President Joe Biden formally unveiled in Asia last week, US officials are negotiating with Taiwan to develop a new trade initiative between the two countries, the Biden administration said Tuesday. However, the negotiations don't mean the door is closed to Taiwan joining the larger deal, an administration official said.
