    At its meeting today, the Board decided to increase the cash rate target by 25 basis points to 35 basis points. It also increased the interest rate on Exchange Settlement balances from zero per cent to 25 basis points. The Board judged that now was the right time to begin withdrawing some of the extraordinary monetary support that was put in place to help the Australian economy during the pandemic. The economy has proven to be resilient and inflation has picked up more quickly, and to a higher level, than was expected. There is also evidence that wages growth is picking up. Since 1950s Australians don't know what a financial crisis means, so vast majority alive are oblivious to the reality of the numbers, crazy ~$1.5T public debt, ~$1.7T made it up GDP with hundreds of billions per year being borrowed from IMF to hold the current public infrastructure and jobs going.
Mark these words, public debt will dominate the mainstream narrative at some point, but only when it's far too late for the ordinary average financially uneducated Australian to do anything to protect their wealth.
