They shouldn't anger Japan, the response wouldn't be the same as Joe Biden's.

He literally wants Russia to become the next chernobyl, Japan do not share the same diplomatic views as Sleepy Joe. All he has to do now is piss off China and we have a World war imminent.

Looks like Russia is ready for a suicidal move against the whole world.
Put it simply: The biggest country territorial wise does not make the strongest economic and military wise. It actually never did.
During the past two months we have seen waterproof evidences supporting that.
Start with 1000$. Increase by 3% every day. After one year 2 213 314$

People please take 1 step backward and THINK about this

We (everyone other than Putin) have OPTIONS:

1. We nod our head and say nothing and go about with the planned exercises with Japan without modifications - this should be fine.

2. We get pissed off and escalate the exercises which causes Russia to escalate as well. With extra ships in the area an accident happens and oops World War 3!

Unlike Sadamm Hussein Putin doesn't make up crap and brag at the mouth. Sadamm was a bragging blowheart with nothing to back himself up - like the despot in N. Korea - all talk and no action (...look at me...look at me...)

Sorry people but I am NOT ready for WW3. I have no skin in the game and feel for the Ukrainian people but dammit this doesn't concern the USA. We are NOT the world's policeman. Heck we can't even take care of the people of Chicago or LA and we are worried about Kiev?
...because you never know - until you do!

Why can't you take care of the people in Chicago and LA? Because you are governed by psychos. The US together with the rest of the sane world have the obligation to protect their interests at home and abroad. Its nonsense that the US is the policeman of the world, why then is there a body called the UN?

Bakker,

The current US Administration has turned a blind eye to the violence in the USA. Last week the bodies of four (4) dead women were pulled from the Chicago river. If that had happened in the Ukraine it would be international news - in the USA; business as usual.

The USA has NO INTEREST in the Ukraine - PERIOD. We should not be there. I'm sorry but let the UN take care of Putin NOT the USA. It's time for the USA to police it's own country. I'm more concerned with the border between the USA and Mexico then I am about the border between Russia and Ukraine.

The fact that you don’t know and don’t understand that the US has a “Federal” government and the states control their own jurisdictions and people of the states pick their officials is funny enough. Don’t let me go to the world and geopolitics stuff where your logic is worse than a drunk monkey.

Shades of the 1940s AFC? The AFC opposed President Franklin Roosevelt’s Lend-Lease plan to send U.S. arms and war materials to the allies fighting Hitler on exactly the same argument?
That went well yeah? Trueman who started the Cold War push back against a similar Russian dictator, Stalin, in '47 had learned the lesson that you cant appease a bully.

Whilst I applaud the perspective of that idealism of minding one's own business and no one else's, world order gets disrupted if the biggest influencer leaves the theatre. Putler acted because he was certain he could get away with it once again; the democratic-West kept blinking, procrastinating and self-moralising, being apologetic rather than fully understanding how the soft strength of liberal democratic capitalism is a force for good. There is absolutely nothing stopping the USA policing both abroad AND at home: there just has to be recognition of that fact and the will to put the house in order. USA may not have any interest in the Ukraine in a nominal sense but plenty of interest in terms of push-back on national autocratic barbarism and aggression. bad things happen when good people say or do nothing.

Bad things happen ALL THE TIME and people do nothing about it

1. SOMALIA

2. YEMEN

3. DRUG CARTELS IN MEXICO AND COLUMBIA

I mean come on when does it rise to such a level that you have to intervene?

I don't have the answers and I admit that. I just believe that too many people want war and talk about it without the realization of the horrors that accompany war and the spread.

The text on which I commented before but here again also, your view seems to be vary black-and white with no nuance. If someone says that force should not be appeased means 'war' and 'war-mongering'? No-sir-ee. The Cold War was an example of prolonged effective policing. I'm not picking a fight and certainly don't wish to be war-mongering but war is the final game when there has been an absence of genuinely effective diplomacy and soft-deterrent forces BEFORE it gets to a war. It's a long game, and as I stated earlier, when there is an absence of effective policing, bad things happen. The examples you list and many more will all be due to ineffective previous actions.and poor governance.

But the USA is part of the UN, its obliged to participate in whatever action is taken. The Russians will anyway blame the USA even if its not part of a broader action in Ukraine. They hate the US right to the core.

@Umbrella man

If you break into/force you way into MY house (residence) - I will defend it to the death if need be (but you would find yourself at the end of MY shotgun). Trust me I don't live in fear.

If this war in Ukraine turns nuclear you, me and millions others will be dead and for what?

FREEDOM?

I HAVE all the darn FREEDOM that I need right now. Whatever happens in the Ukraine doesn't directly affect me so I ignore it. Does that make me a bad person? Not in my book. Not to my neighbors or friends.

You, a faceless person on the internet thinks I'm afraid and a coward because I choose NOT to fight?

Your choice and I'm ok with it.

Hahaha, he's not just a scared kitty... It would be just fun to be like that
But those like him are the lowest filth of society. They are even below cynicism. In fact, those low scums are taking advantage from the people who fight for freedom. They couldn't live a carefree life without those people fighting for freedom. Those jerks are so stupid that they don't even realise that they couldn't display their fancy cynicism and shitty trolling and insensitivity in a world where there would be no people fighting for freedom.

Remember the time Japan beat the sh*t out of Russia and started the downfall of II. Nikolai. History is there for all to learn some real lessons, not to learn some dates. Looks like Putin and his low iq populist enjoyers are not.
