Russia is looking to sell energy sources to ‘friendly’ nations in #Bitcoin and also trade oil in #Bitcoin.

This is how it begins for #Bitcoin to replace the dollar as global reserve currency…..

Will need to sanction Gold as well... good luck with that !! Can anyone actually sanction open source ?

You could stop "some" exchanges selling to "Some" Sources but, all that would happen is the purchase would come from an actor in a 3rd country... which, would be incredibly complex to police if not impossible.

Am I missing something here ?

this is a major MISTAKE... all should be sold in rubles only. one and only. crypto is not decentralised. the myth goes it is, but the reality is it is not...

We trade whatever the market throws at us
Also, you would still have to measure crypto against something-something to determine it's value, right?
If that something is tacos, we'll trade the BTC/TACO cross until our eyes bleed.

Evans: What’s Up with the Economy and Monetary Policy?

    From chicagofed.org|Mar 24, 2022

Thank you, Sandy,1 for the excellent presentation on economic developments in the region and for the invitation to speak to the Detroit Regional Chamber this morning. The Chicago Fed has been very fortunate to have you on our Detroit Branch board of directors since 2017. I’ve been very grateful for your many contributions, among which of course are your keen insights on the Detroit and Michigan economies. These and other information we pick up from business and community leaders—many at events such as this one—are very important inputs into my thinking on monetary policy. Before I begin my formal remarks, I want to acknowledge the substantial hardships the Ukrainian people are enduring as a result of Russia’s invasion. This is just an awful event. May the people of Ukraine and all who are affected by this crisis remain strong and as safe as possible.
