They want more help in Yemen. Period.
They know the Chinese are dangerous to get attached to. Would rather stick with most powerful military in the world they’ve worked with for decades . And right now they want more help with Yemen.

If China has no plans helping in Yemen this is a complete bluff by the saudis. Chinese economy is at a tricky spot right now. The USD is on medium term upswing. The yuan is at risk more so. The only positive inflows to the yuan are from Russia. Which is collapsing. The sanctions will bite harder and harder and harder giving Russia less buying power.

Talks are to price SOME of its oil sales to China in Yuan.
As to the Yuan becoming a competitor to $.. in almost any scenario in the foreseeable future though digital may alter small volumes..
As most folk here will know the DXY dollar index (basket) doesn't even have the Chinese yuan included.
