    U.S. House Democrats are seeking to ban members of Congress and other top congressional staff from trading stocks by year's end, the Punchbowl news outlet reported on Wednesday, citing sources involved in the discussions. House Administration Committee chairwoman Representative Zoe Lofgren is compiling recommendations, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other top House Democratic leaders having the final say on how and when to proceed, it reported. Actually shes not bothered. She and Schumer are BOTH pushing for beefing up the Stock Act and have not excluded banning. Perlosi in addition has advocated its extension to the judicial branch..
But Hey! why let facts get in the way of partisan comment. Powells already introduced a ban on senior Fed officials—including regional bank presidents.

As to being fraudsters one and all .. hard to disagree with that.
But as long as you have a system that allows political power and influence to be bought through the party funding and lobbying system. its inevitable. In American politics, the candidate who raises the most money nearly always wins***. There are decent people in politics but not many because of this reality.
Corruption is incentivized and built in to the system. Just as the entire system for exercise of monetary policy is unfit for purpose because the unintended (but convenient for some) consequences of actively creating asset inflation which hugely benefits the (richer) asset owning class and increases the wealth gap and ultimately destabilizes society.

Geez Ross, that ink on opensecrets shows just how corrupt the whole system is in the USA. But of course the majority have no clue and are only interested in hearing the fake promises and tax cuts for their vote. This cannot be sustainable as it means decision taking for wrong reasons. No wonder the Empire is crumbling
