  • The Queen’s Man: Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Dies

    From time.com

video Until her father’s health began deteriorating, the couple could have been mistaken for any other happy young husband-and-wife. She had been just 13 when they met. This has nothing to do with trading.
But my main complaint is that the TV schedules have been torn up and every channel has been reporting on his death the whole freaking day. Yes, he was in the navy and was brave - so were many other non royals. He was very old and very privileged; never had to work or worry about bills and bosses or getting a restuarant booking or private school for his children and had his own personal doctor etc -so no NHS problems of having only 15 minutes with your doctor - limited to one medical problem per visit. No housing or mortgage bills to manage. But had to wave at people or shake many hands plus supermarket or shopping centre opening skills. One very old man died and the nation stops to examine his life in excrutiating detail - yet thousands died of Covid and barely got group mentions in the news after which the world moved on.
