"most important for economy now is vaccinating"
Wrong! most important for economy is to be open again... vaccination is neither necessary nor sufficient by itself as reopening the economy is primarily a political decision (though undoubtedly vaccination can help some politicians take the decision)

As long as they keep printing money out of thin air, things will continue to get worse for USD.

Powell is sticking to Fed mandate and side stepping all the Political slant getting thrown at him.
He is definitely not using the Forum to signal anything to markets about policy market does not already know.
This is a Theatrical production and no more then that.
A Dovish Fed already is factored in. He remains upbeat that things should improve as year progresses.
Only Data coming out that contradicts this viewpoint would lead to further loosening by Fed.

Why is the vaccine a priority?

I remember a year ago the purpose of the lock downs was to "flatten the curve" - ITS FLATTENED ALREADY.

Here is Florida we've been open since July and it's back to normal + mask. It's time already open up those Blue states.

The vaccine is a priority because the curve is NOT flattening in the USA. At least not according to the Johns Hopkins website. The green line that is so high above all the others and pointing upwards, that's your curve.

nice to see some reasonable posts

unfortunately harcos, people only see what they want to see ya know.

After a break up ALL you see is happy relationships everywhere you go.
Or like me, I was shopping around for the newer gen mustangs and all of a sudden it felt like everyone had a mustang on the street. Looked into Camaros later on and all of a sudden all I saw were camaros lol

best wishes

edit: neither fxsport nor harcos know what "flattening the curve" means. You can start with Wiki

while rarely a good place to make one's final opinion, always a good starting point.

There you go trying again to hide your ignorance by lashing out, I suggest therapy but you wouldn't listen. Flattening the curve is just what it means, my apologies if English is a second language. If fxsport says its not flattening and I say it is and you say we are both wrong just proves RideTheWave's point. You are a clueless troll not worth responding to any more.

The intention of "flattening the curve" was to ensure that the hospitals were not being overrun with sick people. The purpose of locking down was to make sure that the healthcare system would survive - it did.

Harcos in Florida the rate of positive cases is below 7% our goal is 5%. It was as high as 15% in August. I live here and I know the numbers. I also suffered thru having the illness myself and recovered. No it is NOT fun.

BTW the green line in your graph is correct - that is the NUMBER OF POSITIVE CASES. That has nothing to do with flattening the curve! The mortality rate is dropping and treatments are getting better and better.

The goal of lockdowns was NEVER to stop the spread - that is not possible. The only way to "conquer" Cov-19 is herd immunity - the vaccines along with people recovering with therapeutics is how we achieve this. Step 1 is to open the schools everywhere.

Answer me this - why are the private schools open for business and reporting no outbreaks while the public schools won't even open up? This Covid issue is political and it shouldn't be. Nuh said. Take care all - stay safe

If the replication was done the normal 10 times instead of 36 times the positive test results would be very different. People with a cold or flu would not be told they are covid positive. And yes, covid still gets highlighted as incorrect spelling. Such a stupid attempt at mind control. 500k deaths at 6% is an actual 30k. Not scary. 23 flu diagnosis in the US for a week tells you it is all a lie. That it is only certain states with lockdowns tells you it is political. That the worse results are in those same states tells you they do not care about their people. With the vaccine greatly reducing new cases tells you there is no need for the 1.9 trillion spending. A look at the provisions tells you it is not about covid. Powell and the rest of the cookie cutter FED members are doing what is expected. Talking out of both sides of their mouth and acting the clueless idiots.

So, last fall I got the Flu Shot for this Flu Season. Why did I get that? Because the Flu Virus comes every year and it kills lots of people even if there is a Flu Shot.
Why is the Carona Flu not flattening?
Why there nearly no infections reported for the Flu that I got a Flu Shot to prevent?
Why are there so many false positives being reported?
Why does it say on every box of N95 Masks, Not intended to stop infectious diseases.
When I got the Carona and tested positive and later showed evidence for antibodies, why was it not as bad as the government said it was going to be?
Why, after 8 months, is my sense of taste and smell just now starting to come back?
Why am I listening to politicians and the News Media when they are almost always wrong and almost always lie?
Why do I continue to love my family and my country and believe our government should be held accountable to, and limited by, the Constitution when so many say I shouldn't worry about that?
Why do I despise my government and politicians when so many of the people around me hang on every word they hear in the news and want to be compliant to politicians demands?
Why do I trade on market action rather than depend on technical analysis to show me the way?
Why do I smile when I see group think and heard mentality in action?

Why is Gat answering my questions before I can ask them all?

Yes, I was a problem child.
Yes, I drive way too fast.

    From federalreserve.gov|33 hr ago|1 comment

Chairman Brown, Ranking Member Toomey, and other members of the Committee, I am pleased to present the Federal Reserve's semiannual Monetary Policy Report. At the Federal Reserve, we are strongly committed to achieving the monetary policy goals that Congress has given us: maximum employment and price stability. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have taken forceful actions to provide support and stability, to ensure that the recovery will be as strong as possible, and to limit lasting damage to households, businesses, and communities. Today I will review the current economic situation before turning to monetary policy. tweet at 10:01am: Fed Chair Powell: -Long way from policy goals, further progress to take some time -Developments point to improved outlook later this year -Vaccines should help speed of return to normalcy -Spending on services still low, but has picked up on goods $USD $SPX $NDX $TNXPowell says inflation is still ‘soft’ and the Fed is committed to current policy stance Inflation and employment remain well below the Federal Reserve’s goals, meaning easy monetary policy is likely to stay in place, central bank Chairman Jerome Powell said Tuesday. Despite a sharp rise this year in bond yields that has accompanied heightened concern over inflation, Powell said price pressures remain mostly muted and the economic outlook is still “highly uncertain.” “The economy is a long way from our employment and inflation goals, and it is likely to take some time for substantial further progress to be achieved,” the Fed chief said in prepared remarks for the Senate Finance Committee. He added that the Fed is “committed to using our full range of tools to support the economy and to help ensure that the recovery from this difficult period will be as robust as possible.” However, the speech did not mention the mar
