The indices published here are based on a limited set of price observations and from estimates of some rates of change for fares which are not yet available. The complete results will be published on 13 November 2020.

Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should be stable in October 2020, for the second month in a row, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. Compared to those of September, the food prices should be more dynamic year on year, whereas those of services should rise less. The prices of energy and those of manufactured goods should fall less than in the previous month.

Over one month, consumer prices should decrease by 0.1%, after –0.5% in the previous month. The food prices and those of energy should rebound after a fall in September. Those of services should decline less than in the previous month. The prices of tobacco should be stable. Those of manufactured goods should slow down strongly after a rebound in the last month.

Year on year, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices should be stable for the second month in a row. Over one month, it should decline by 0.1%, after –0.6% in the previous month.
