Candles- What do they mean

Does anyone know of anywhere on the net- here or otherwise that I can get a breakdown of what differing individual candles mean, how to distingish them and how powerful they are.

Do a search in the forum or just google "japanese candlesticks". There's tons of info out there. Books by Steve Nison are also highly recommended.

Web search will give you cursory info on Candle Patterns but if you really want to understand why those patterns work, you're gonna have to shell out ~ $100.00 or so for at least one of Nison's books.
