Is it possible to create an alert for moving average crossovers? Specifically I am looking for 2 alerts:

1) 8ema crossover 200ema
2) 8ema crossover 14ema

Can anybody help me out with this?

Thanks!

If you use the search feature, you will find many on this site. Just change the ema numbers.

I have found a few indicators, but none of them play sounds. Many have pop-up windows, but I would like an audio alert for when I'm away from the computer. Can you help me with this?

THanks.

Acko, I really appreaciate your help. But I still dont have any sounds playing. When the ema's cross, a pop-up window appears but the sounds do not play. The volume is on and the built-on metatrader price alerts go off audibly, but still the ema alert is just a pop-up window. The sound is turned on or says true in the indicator.

Is there something else I have to do to get the sound to play? THanks again, I really appreciate this!

I really can't think what the problem is apart from checking in the Control Panel but you've probly done that. They sound ok on my system.
Sorry

I have a multi-alert indicator that can make alerts for EMA cross also. You can get the compiled code from the following link:
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=53189

The file is Chandra-SAS5.ex4 and it can be used in 5 ways. The first option is MACD. MACD crossing zero level is the same as EMA-crossing. If you want to use 8-200 EMA-cross, you will have to input the following as Input Parameters:
Indi_Name = 0;
Input1 = 8;
Input2 = 200;
Input3 = 1;
Input4 = 1;

I hope it helps for your purpose.

dear traders,
thank you for great support. the most indicators are very helpful for my trading and i hope i can give back, also good feedback back.

so i hope you can help me.

i need a audio and pop-up signal alert when:

the price cross an EMA from below and closes above the EMA.

in the example screenshot you see, the situation i will get a alert:

the price crosses with the low of his body under the EMA(9) but during the
trading session the price close ABOVE the EMA(9)

this i a situation i will place an entry.

in the next posting i will show you, i it works very well with a rain bow charting.

i woulbd be great i some can code it. after then, i will show you in a next step how i can "fine tune" and would be found nice trading opportunities.

i would be greatv if it give a sound and pop up alert when it closes.

thanks!

I think this alert will work for you. It is usually set for n pips from the EMA, but if you set the AlertPips to 0 and CloseBar to true, it should do what you want. Be sure to use the version in post #43.

hello CodeMeister,
thank, it works great. but it isn´t really what i´m looking for. but i think the human eye is a lot of better then a automatic pattern. but mabye you have time to code some ideas.

another big question:

i´m looking for an indicator, that calculate all open risk in % of my account size.

examplge

10.000 usd account:

one lot open with a stopp loss at 50 pips. so its a loss oportunity of 500 usd.

thats at the moment 5 % of my account size.

it would be great, if somone can code a tool, that calculates the open loss
(entry minus stopp loss) for ALL open positions.

and second:

that would be a very useful tool: when i set the stopp loss to 30 pips, so the calculator should recognize them, and adjust the open profit and loss.

so anybode can manage his risk, so for example when somoe only wanna loss 5 % of his account at all, and he have the positions with and he ask hishelf how much he can buy or sell?

that would be save a lot of time in trading!

thanks!

G'day all! Thanks for all the info you blokes are sharing. It has helped me immensely... Much appreciated!

Right now I am looking for an indicator that will show/sound an alert when a moving average crosses the currency line graph on a chart.

I reckon that someone somewhere has built one but, so far, I have been unable to find one in the Metaquotes library or anywhere else I have looked ... and would appreciate any clues.

Thanks in anticipation.

Cheers
