Trading EAs

I feel that I developed a very powerful system based on EAs, some free some custom made. Of course it will not be 100% mechanical, I generally like to follow the news...

Current status

Not a very good day today, a lot of "bad" volatility. It's one of those day that I'm happy to take a loss. We are back to BreakEven after an equity high of 11600

I will also start posting charts of intraday drawdown soon.

My system mainly consists of a scalping part and a swing trade part (lets say that both these parts take about 70% of the whole). Today I changed a little bit the scalping part so there will probably be 2 demos running soon. Ideally they will be loosely correlated, not more than 50%

Great day today, demo 1 is up 50 pips while demo 2 is up 200 pips.

...forgive me if I am missing the point but I don't quite get why you are posting these results. It is interesting (very) that you think you have developed "a very powerful system based on EAs" but without giving an insight into what you are exploring it's difficult to see how anyone else can respond to these posts except to say "good for you". Not a very productive reaction.

I am not trying to be funny, just perplexed.

This is the journal section, he's simply keeping a trading journal that others have access to. If he were trying to teach you to do the same, or providing the EA's to others this thread would be in a different section.

A journal is simply a blog type section, it can help keep you honest or just be used to track your own progress.

Here are some of my reason for keeping a journal

1)my own benefit (public pressure, organization)
2)for my friends
3)to show it is possible
4)to find same minded, skilled individuals
5)exchange ideas with people that actually have market experience
6)to get feedback about news, general market direction, market volatility
7)possibly find strategies that are not correlated with mine

demo1: about BE, demo2: up 100 pips

The 2 demos went nowhere so I have been working on some new ideas that I had. This time I will start posting after a few months to make sure things work out as they should.
