RJ,

I didn't sleep that well last night, so I ended up trading the markets.
Put in 4 trades and ended up with 75 pips. The system worked
like a charm. No big deal... this is a great system

Thanks for all your help It's now 7:00 a.m. Montana time...

For me the day ended badly. Indicator ASCTrend confirmed only 3 trades for me today. And I have not had time.

I had resolved to return to the initial version of the system. Deleted all of their indicators. RJ was right saying that this is all just keep you from using the system!

Steve, I'm following your H4 charts with much interest. A big fan of pending orders myself. They keep my emotions in check. Good luck with your trades!

Hi Kosmo,

Thanks for the support, I'll keep posting setups, as I see them, as long as I have the time to do so.

AUD/JPY and EUR/GBP trades both turning against me at the moment, after being in profit, but I'm a big believer of having a plan and sticking to it.

How often have we jumped out of trades, once they start to turn sour, only to have them turn around again and hit our TP.

It's a good idea to keep a record of trades, where we exit early or go against our trade plan, to see how things would work out over time.

I know, in my case, it's usually a good idea to let things roll until I either hit my TP or SL.

Good luck to everyone in their trading I'm happy to have found the Genesis method.

Thanks, Steve. I'll keep your words in mind. I can imagine that trading H4 charts requires some extra patience, but as long as there is a sound plan in place it can be very rewarding.

Genesis gives excellent signals on lower time frames. I'm sure it applies equally well, if not better, to higher ones too.

I'm tempted to start experimenting with H4 myself.

Hi Steve/Jo,

Nice to see posts about H4 trades.

I am doing basic Genesis M5-15 trading at the moment. Interesting to see higher time frame analysis with Genesis. Please keep posting. Good learning experience for me. I would not be moving to higher time frame trading in the near future but might consider at some stage.

Best wishes.

On the contrary I find its the lower timeframes that require patience. H4 is just check the chart 6 times daily then go and do something else for 3 hours 59 minutes each time lol.

Hi Padila,

It's all a learning phase for me, but I've been thinking of trading HTFs on a separate account for some time now, not to interfere with my day trading. I remember Oli's posts and analyses on H4, very inspiring. And now we have Steve. The more the merrier. Joint effort bears sweeter fruit

Hi Kosmo,

I find it takes far more patience to trade the lower TFs on a slow day than the H4 charts on any day. I only recently started trading higher TFs and I find it a much more relaxed way to trade, but that's just me everyone is different.

I'm not a full time trader and have a full time job, so checking four hour charts works much better for me. I can't check charts during my working day so I have to have a set and forget approach to my trading. That's where sound MM comes in, I don't take a trade unless I'm fully prepared to take the loss.

Yeah, I agree as far as checking the charts is concerned, but I meant patience to wait for the trade to close in profit or loss, not being tempted to interfere in the meantime.

{quote} Hi Angela, I'm using Vista as well and my MT4 is version 432. I can't really be much more help without some more information, but my system runs just fine. If you can't get it running, the best person to ask will possibly be Cody, so look for him to come online. I must admit that I'm surprised because Genesis Matrix and the arrow etc are not resource hungry.....I'm running 4 currency pairs with 2 charts per pair, so that's 8 charts and sometimes 10 charts and I never have the problem that you are experiencing.

^ Hi RJ, may I ask which other timeframe you watch per currency pair (other than the 5M)? I'm now on page 86 of the thread, pluggin along. Found out the FXI Pivots seems to be the pivots of choice. (thanks 'thoughts')

Thank you.

It surely does. I presume it's a different kind of patience when trading H4. It takes more time for a trade to play out. Sounds like a perfect addition to a busy job schedule, though, or to a day trading account as in my case.

Thanks again, Steve.

I should say, keep calm and trade H4

Hi,

On my monitors I have an M5 and an M15 chart for each pair that I trade, and I'm looking for the 2 TF's to agree on a trade before I enter. Sometimes the trade is more clear to see on the M5, sometimes it's more clear on the M15, the important thing is that both TF's are in agreement . I do look at the H1, H4, Daily and Weekly at least once a day, just to see how the 'big picture' is developing, and if I see anything worth noting, then I jot it down in my dairy and put a sticky on the page.

Yes FXI Pivots is very good because you can see past pivot levels as well, rather than just todays pivots, which is the case for many other pivot indies. As I said though, it's essential that the information going into the pivot indi is correct if we expect to see accurate pivot information displayed on the chart. If there brokers server time (or off set) is wrong, then the information will be wrong. Some brokers use a Sunday candle, which also is wrong and gives incorrect information. There are other pivot indies that you can use that have setting you can adjust to compensate for this, but then we have dalylight saving to consider as well. So my advice is to find a broker with the correct server time. My broker has it all wrong, so I do my charting on a demo account of a broker who has it set properly.

I find this whole pivot difference extremely annoying and very childish of the brokers......we have an accepted global time standard called 'GMT', so if all brokers used the same offset, GMT + 2, we wouldn't have this issue. I wonder why they persist in such pettiness?.......anyway....that's another story!!

Some days are like that. I didn't have a good day either. Not because there weren't any good set ups, just that I was 'out of tune' with the market for some reason. No big deal though, a sleep and shower and bit of outside exercise will soon sort that out!

Any of the indicators that come from Xaphod, ASCTrend included, are good indicators and are complimentary to the system. I use many of Xaphods indies, but I don't show them on the charts I post because I want to keep my posts clean for the newcomers to the thread etc. You may feel more comfortable using the standard set up, and that's great.....as you get more experience and better at it, you might like to add some of Xaphods great indicators and try them out. They won't tell you anything you don't already know, or can't find out by switch TF's, but they make things much easier to see. But first you must learn to walk...before you can run
