I think, you are looking for this one?

Greetings from Hamburg/Germany,
Dietmar, DL4HAO

Thanks for the attachment dl4, but I can't see how to get this to "freeze" on the daily channel. Maybe playing around with the code, haven't looked into that yet.

Hi Xman,

Thanks for sharing your systems.

Regarding the Template you look for: you must save it in C:/WINDOWS/USER/PUBLIC/PUBLIC IMAGES otherwise you won't find it searching your MT4 folders in windows explorer....
I have NO idea what you are talking about there?

See the picture, save me writing 1,000 words.

There are 2 Template folders, the yellow highlight is where you will find your saved templates

This setting of SHI channel indi is really confusing. Let us wait for the X-Man's template that will be uploaded as promised by him tomorrow.

Sativa

Read the perfectly clear instructions within the indicator, highlighted in GREEN

Enter 1440 in the Timeframe section as shown by arrow, and this will "freeze" or set the indicator to read as Daily no matter which timeframe you change to.

Remember this for other indicator; a basic knowledge of TIME is required to trade: 60 minutes in 1 hour, 24 hour in a day.

60 times 24 = 1,440

Hands up if you checked on calculator

hey there every here is a vline that will work

I also want to say thanks to x-man for starting this thread .....it is great for you to share what you have been useing to make profit constantly.....
It does more than work, it is the best I have found, works great, shows up to 5 lines, if you need more, just add it a 2nd time.

I always find it helpful to post a picture to go along with the indicator to show members what it looks like.

He didn't find the template for sharing....
If you look for it in windows explorer (at least in windows 7...)you won't find it.
If you noticed, when you open the list of templates in MT4 to load one, in those saved by you, there's a little padlock near the name of it.
Those templates are saved in the same folder of other templates, but (and I don't know why..) will be hidden in windows explorer....

For those of you using MT4 with Windows 7 - everything needs be saved under :

Local Disk (C)

"Program Files (x86)"

And then under the file where your MT4 platform resides - typically this will be under your broker name - so my broker file name where my MT4 lives is

"InterbankFX_1-Click"

If you save your indicators or templates anywhere else, they will not work.

If you download someone else's template files and you do not already have the indicators saved, then the template will not work.

save the indicators in your MT4 under "Experts" - "Indicators"

then save the templates under your MT4 in "Templates"

Maybe someone should start a thread in the Rookie section on how to do all these ridiculous things that everyone keeps repeating over and over....indicators and templates. Or maybe actually do a search on forexfactory on how to do these things.

Page one states to go read babypips.com and actually learn a bit about forex and your own platform.

It's just that we have 8 pages of practically nothing except how to set up a chart. Come on guys!

Hi,

I also discovered that you can just load your MT4 on your C drive if you prefer in lieu of going into program files...when working with vista I noted I could bypass security by doing this when transfering ea's , indicators and templates from window 7 computer to vista computer....as far as I can tell you can park your platform anywhere...I accidentally put an instance of mt4 inside another instance of mt4 and was able to use it with out problems

Never used Vista - jumped to Windows 7.

If you find a way that it works in whichever OS / Apps you are using, then go with it - these are my experiences and have I repeated the set up with several folks - but then I am absolutely no expert - just hacking my way way through it all

Must be one of those Microsoft Features (some nasty people might call them bugs!)

Do NOT follow that advise, never run MT4 under the Program Files directory!

Hope this new image will clarify what I meant.

also after you save a new indicator or template and have your platform open in another tab you need to close then reopen it for the new stuff to show up. basic info but it may help someone.
waiting for the market to open drives me nuts

I obviously stand corrected - and thank you for the resource page.

Just stating what works for me and others that have used this set up. I have saved the web page in case I have issues. Currently some parts of Windows 7 do seem to be plug and play, certainly more so than Vista ever was, and I have not seen any of the issues on the link so far (fingers crossed).

Erebus,

Thanks for the smack down but I don't think you looked closely enough at what I had said.

I had no problem getting the Sonic SHI to work on the D1 TF.
I was speaking about the "SHI_Channel_true_TRO_MODIFIED_VERS ION" that dl4 uploaded. There is no input for changing the time frame. I've been fooling around with the code but not being a coder haven't hit the right combo yet.
