I placed this trade before you started this thread but doing my best attempt at following your rules as I understood them at that time. The green vertical line marks the candle at which opening I shorted the Chf/Jpy. As I saw it, three candles before the price had hit the top SHI channel line (red line) and now the green TDI line was starting to return to the top blue TDI line after breaking above it. The channel was going down as well as the 60 EMA, and the price was below the EMA. The yellow vertical line candle also hit the top SHI channel line,...
i dont know the settings you all are using on the SHI but typically if it breaks it high or low (edit! then you have TDI conformation) and you enter opposite its a swing trade.
this is X's deal thats just one of the ways to use the SHI

@X-MAN:

looks very interesting

how long do you have backtested the system?
you are only trading the TF= H4 ?
any backtests with other TF's?
thanks for your answer...
happy pippin..
Well i trade everyday 1H only E/U
and yes i trade only 4H for my swing trading method with the daily TF set.
I traded this way since i started my trading career and my 1000+ pips a month.
I'm a full time trader and do not do any other sort of work.
So from that you can tell that im making a living out of these trading methods.

For the 1H method i only use the TDI and synergy bars
For the 4H swing i use the synergy bars with the shi channel and the 60EMA with 4 ema

Hy X-Man,
you should have two different template folders in your mt4 directory ... try the first one, not the subfolder under experts

greetings from Hamburg/Germany,
Dietmar, DL4HAO
aka Forextrader-Radioman

PS: referring to windows-xp installations ... (which I still prefer...) if you use windows-7, there could be much more places where you can find templates

Hello X-Man,
Thank you for a simple straighforward method
Was attracted to it because I hope to make a fresh start.
Months of searching FF threads has only created much confusion made it harder to settle on tradeable system.

Have installed the TDI and Synergy Bars on 1Hr chart.
Looking at London Fri open am not sure if it would be a long entry.
The green TDI reverses to cross back over red on candle 3.

Would you enter long on the blue bar 1, the then close and enter short on the TDI cross on candle 3? (See attached chart)
I suppose, my...
Hey there
The 4 EMA shift 2 really has no purpose when choosing when to enter a trade but it personally gives me a sense of confidence.
The reason why i wouldnt go long on the first blue candle is because that blue candle doesnt show me much movement and it was weak.
This is mostly the case for the first vertical line, the direction mostly starts 1 candle after the first vertical line
the second vertical line the trade mostly happens on the vertical line. With experience and back testing i have noticed this.
Another reason why i wouldnt enter on the first blue candle is that when you draw you fibb retracement levels from high to the low on the 1H chart you will notice that PA went to 38% and then came back down.
That small blue candle was when PA was bouncing off the 0% level and going down so even before the bounce on TDI i expected PA to go down

Thank you X-Man, I had been waiting this method since yesterday. After making the template, I have a question : how long or how many days usually a swing trade will run?
Well i keep my swing trades running for a week but it has potential to run far longer than that.
I like to lock in my profits and then re-enter when i find an entry

X-Man, nice talking with you and thanks for all your help.

Couple of fast questions. I found that playing around with your
SHI Channel that it seems to work well on the 1 hour chart?

You suggest that we use 4 ema shift 2. (close or typical hlc/3)?

Also do you use the stochastic slope color indicator?

Can we just trade on the 1 hour charts? For some reason the 4 hour
charts seem to flip back on me. And I do much better on the
1 hour charts.

Thanks for all your time and help!

snarlyjack
yeah ofcourse you can use the channel on any time frame , you can use it to trade the bounces of the channel.
keep in mind the channel will stronger on Higher time frames.
another thing to keep in mind when a channel is too steep the that channel will break very soon it wont hold a steep channel for long.
Nope i dont use stochastic slope as that made me make some wrong decisions and it has caused me to miss some good trades.
For my swing trading the 4 ema is shift 0 typical
and for my 1H method the 4 ema is shift 2 typical

E/U , G/U , A/U , E/J , G/J , A/J , USD/CHF , EUR/CHF , USD/CAD, EUR/AUD

For my 1H method I only use E/U

I've never deciphered this part of it.

2. Wait for the 1 H bar to touch the vertical line then start looking for your signal.the signal can happen at the vertical line or 1 bar after the vertical line (do not enter on signals that form before the vertical line)

Do you only enter on the vertical line or one candle after the vertical line?

Would you enter 2 or 3 candles after the line if you had a signal?

What I mean here is that you dont trade the signals before the vertical line
Trade the signal that will occur on the vertical line or 1 or 2 bars after.
If theres no signal and a signal comes on the 3rd bar after the vertical line i wont trade it, I'll let it pass and wait for the next session.
PS: DO NOT ENTER WHILE THE 1H CANDLE IS FORMING.
wait for the candle to form then your trade will be at the open of the next candle.

I'm in south africa so my time is GMT +2
The platform i use to look for setups is from iforex.com
So I assume that my vetical line is 2 hours before.
If you confused then look at my chart i posted in post 1 and look at the candles that i have marked with the vertical lines and this will give you and idea because the chart i posted is a very recent chart of E/U

Guys another important tip is to select your bar chart so you are able to see the open and close of a candle on the synergy bars

wait for the candle to form then your trade will be at the open of the next candle.
Just to be clear, the sequence is:

1. draw the vertical line at the beginning of london / new york sessions
2. wait for the crossing of the TDI AFTER that lines
3. obtained the crossing, DO NOT enter as this candle (candle of the TDI crossing signal) WAIT until finsh to forming (1 hour forming time)
4. Entering the trade at the opening of the next candle

Am I OK?

edit
pd. why iforex? IMO does not have good reputation
