I usually do 1 hr before FRANKFURT open. To find out what time it is in your city. I go here:

http://forex.timezoneconverter.com/

Then I mark exactly at NY open. If you just back test and observe the last few weeks you will see a good pattern there.

Hello X-Man,
Thank you for a simple straighforward method
Was attracted to it because I hope to make a fresh start.
Months of searching FF threads has only created much confusion made it harder to settle on tradeable system.

Have installed the TDI and Synergy Bars on 1Hr chart.
Looking at London Fri open am not sure if it would be a long entry.
The green TDI reverses to cross back over red on candle 3.

Would you enter long on the blue bar 1, the then close and enter short on the TDI cross on candle 3? (See attached chart)
I suppose, my question is how do you identify a "bounce"?
Also, what is purpose of the 4EMA Shift2?
Look forward to learning more about the system and the swing trades.
Thanks,
EP

Thanks for beginning this quest, I found the TMS system and through there, yours.
I am glad to see you willing to share your profitable system, and hope you can keep the thread clean.
I have been testing your system for 2 days, with profits both days. Being on the west coast of Canada, I must start my day at 1130 p.m. I find the pips of profit warrant it, and so I don't mind. Forex is my occupation, I have no "day job" to go to.
I look forward to more channel trades in the weeks to come. Simple. Straitforward trading.
Thanks
Leona

I think your question is answered in post # 14 -- red line is either 1 or 2 hours before opening, depending on your comfort level and your own backtesting-- it indicates volatility beginning.
Hope that helps
Leona

Thanks, X-Man; looking forward to participating.

In case anyone wants it, here's an indicator that will box your trading sessions so you don't have to draw lines. Makes it easy to look back & study. Mine is set up for central time; the white box is New York & the blue box is London. Tinker with the time settings to match where you live.

The 4H swing trade method

these kind of setups happen few times a month.
Be sure to check whre the daily PA is heading.
The daily PA should be heading in the same direction

Thank you X-Man, I had been waiting this method since yesterday. After making the template, I have a question : how long or how many days usually a swing trade will run?

X-Man, nice talking with you and thanks for all your help.

Couple of fast questions. I found that playing around with your
SHI Channel that it seems to work well on the 1 hour chart?

You suggest that we use 4 ema shift 2. (close or typical hlc/3)?

Also do you use the stochastic slope color indicator?

Can we just trade on the 1 hour charts? For some reason the 4 hour
charts seem to flip back on me. And I do much better on the
1 hour charts.

Thanks for all your time and help!

Guys you do not need a whole bunch of indicators. The simplest of indicators can tell you what you need to know and thats it.
The rest is up to you to build your confidence to execute your trades
Hi X-Men,
Thanks for sharing this system. Totally agree with you less indicators and make it simple. All it takes is great amount of discipline to follow the system setup rules and excure and manage the trades according over a longer period. Consistency is important to win and be profitable.
Thank you.

I like the SHI_channel_true_TRO_modified_versi on.. by Shurka Kevin I forget where I picked it up but it was part of a trading system I messed with in the past few years maybe "forex pip taker?" anyway its copyrighted 09 but is as good as a SHI gets.

Hi EaglePip,

Assuming the vertical line is correct. X-MAN indicates to ignore any TDI signal before the london session. Alright candle 2 does show a upside cross. But the candle is RED, therefore wait 1 more bar. Start of bar 3 shows red stick + down side cross --> Short.

Hope it helps, remember to check candle color as well.

Hilary

Hi Everyone,
Attached is a simple script which is use to capture your chart screen shot and saved in your installed MT4 Expert\Files\chart screenshot... folder.
Each capture screen shot is saved with specific name with ccy symbol, date and time, timeframe, etc.
The graphic file type is coded as .png , but you can change it to .gif should you prefer. Resolution size can also be change in the mql4 code.
Kind regards,
Emmanuel

.... But the candle is RED, .....
remember to check candle color as well.

Thanks Hilary,
Obviously, your study of the TMS has paid off!
I was just focussed on X-Man rules and overlooked the bar colour.
Good point.

I placed this trade before you started this thread but doing my best attempt at following your rules as I understood them at that time. The green vertical line marks the candle at which opening I shorted the Chf/Jpy. As I saw it, three candles before the price had hit the top SHI channel line (red line) and now the green TDI line was starting to return to the top blue TDI line after breaking above it. The channel was going down as well as the 60 EMA, and the price was below the EMA. The yellow vertical line candle also hit the top SHI channel line, and marked the TDI crossing back down through the top blue line and crossing the red line (ever so slightly, though).

SL was placed a few pips above the SHI channel where the fractal is at (also red line) - roughly 40 pips - which worked well because the price ranged for a while before resuming its downward trend. Right now it is 45 pips in the green. As PA picked up I moved my TP from 40 to 80 pips and almost got hit today. Trading 1 micro lot in live account so couldn't take partial profits at the 40 pip level.

I know I could learn from your comments about this trade, why you would/would not have taken the trade, etc. Also, any comments on what does it mean when the candles break out of the SHI channel, as in this case?

Thanks.

Not a problem EP,

Also remember EMA60, if PA is under EMA60 it means downtrend, its more likely to be short. If it is showing a long signal while PA is under EMA60, I will just take like 20 pip and go.

So things I also look for is:
1. What trend? (EMA 60)
2. Color of stick while TDI cross, must be same direction.

When closing trade:
1. 1 hr before US session
2. Opening and closing price, when open and close price has not much difference, I just close it
3. Tail is creating a support |||

Hope it helps.

Hilary
