When I trade on 5 minutes, I am looking for perfect entries and I usually risk around 13 pips, spread icluded. My target is about 15/20 pips, depends on the safety of the trend and supports/resistances. But I can adapt my SL according to the target. When you are on a safe trend you can put your stop at 13 pips spread included, it is generally enough. But dont be greedy especially at the begining. Take your 20 pips you will be happy. Scalping is about speed : you grab pips and you enter again if you can.

well, my last trade for the day for +10 more pips...

I reached my +30 pips daily target with no losing one out of 6 trades. One thing that I knew there were news at 2PM (GMT), but forgot the crude oil news at 2:30PM. Luckily the news favored my side and I got my 10 pips quickly.

and again that requotation thing delayed my entry once more. I need to solve it that when the price moves quickly MT4 keeps asking me do you accept this price, and even I click Yes, it again asks me that the price changed do you accept this?

hmaoui, I'd like to ask...

Hello! I am a FF member for many years noow but I never posted a thread or only one started but avorted because it was a little bit similar to ichimoku360, and I didnt want to confuse anybody.

So, firstable, I am a trader whose the first question is how I can limit the risk? So my system is developped with this bias.I prefer to be flat than in a bad trade. I prefer to trade the trend than countertrend trading. So maybe the system will not suit your personnality, so feel free to get away or to criticize in order to improve it not to destroy it....
From your rules statement:
Entries >>> the best is when you get a candlestick pattern such as a hammer. In this case, you can enter with a tight stop (depends on the pair and the TF) and let your profits run away. Reverse for Shorts (Trend bearish, etc....)

Question: As I review your entries throughout the thread, it appears you are taking them at the EMA 12, as they show either support (long) or resistance (short). Maybe I missed something along the way but what are you looking for at the entry exactly.

You stated a candle pattern ( example: Hammer ). Hammer forms, entry with tight stop, correct? Essentially you are selling into resistance or buying into support, correct? 12 EMA is the support/resistance. Are you buying the high, the low or entry at close of pattern? Are there any other patterns that you use? You mention compression in the thread later on, is this also part of the set up? I understand the DMI and Sto settings and were they need to be, so no worries there.

Just a little foggy on the exact entry..

thank in advance

Would it be possible to get your settings for the new chart look.. The blue channel, yellow channel, etc. STO and DMI I have. Just the new MA look would be great.

Thanks !

Just make the outher MA´s of the ST and LT "bands" thicker , nothing special

On the other question , well iam not the author , but all those system work the same. First you wait for an initial wave , after that the ma´s should be line up correctly , then there will be a retracemnet where the fast ma´s compress , but they should not be "winded up" or be all "compressed in each other" , Then you wait for the pullback where the fast ma´s widen again , or you go in by any sign which could mean that the pullback will happen , like a candlestick pattern , indicator ....The Ma´s are used as adapting trendlines if you want , you could also draw those lines by hand , but of course on shorter frame its easier that way

Thanks Blutkehlchen
Got it .. He just added width to the Guppy MAs : ST (3/5/8/10/12/15) LT (30/35/40/45/50/55 .. Originally he had stated that he could only add 5 indy's to his platform.. Assume he has moved to a different paltform, something with more flexability.

Regarding the second question. Your right, all these types of pull back systems operate much the same. What I found ( I think ?? ) different was the apperance that he may be selling into resistance ( based on a candle formation ) or buying support ( based on a candle formation ) as he had stated in the rules. I used something like this way back in the late 90's into 2000.
He seems to refer to taking the trade off the bounce of the MA ( as support/resistance ) and using a candle pattern for entry. I understand that very well...But for some reason I am not able to see what he is doing. Example: Taking the entry on the break of the low of the candle that hits the S/R..or ... Waiting for a pivot conformation at the S/R .. or ..Buying at the close of the candle the hits the S/R ...or ... Trading only the hammer candle, pin bar candle, etc... and on and on , etc, etc
Could be I am missing something so "simple" it will embarassing when I find out LOLL !!??

Appreciate your input !.. feel free to add
Thanks

He are some examples of what I am refering to..Post # 76.. Made 2 entries ,,One @ 1.4153 and the second @ 1.4139...My question is were at in or on the candle? Why that candle and not the next ( if that is the case ? ) Did he buy the close of the bull candle @ 1.4153 ? or did he wait for the crossing of the STO to go short as conformation? What is he seeing..?? Price pulls back into the MA's , wait,wait.. there's the signal...( what signal ? ) I quess this is were my confusion is coming from... Everything else I understand.

thanks again..

Great thread! Like the charts and explanations.

I was thinking about this too TraderinSD. I was wondering if hmaoui just enters as price touches the MA as long as the other indicators are in line?

One more thing...

"Guppy MAs : ST (3/5/8/10/12/15) LT (30/35/40/45/50/55 instead of 60 because it is a Fib number)"

Are these simple or exponential moving averages?

Never mind... found my answer for this question. EMAs. Just had to look at your charts, lol.

Ok iam not 100% what you mean exactly , but in the case of the trades in post 76 , the trigger was the STO leaving the 50 Zone heading down.Of course the other filters were in line too , but the trigger must have been the Sto leaving 50 iam pretty sure.

Hey blutkehlchen... Exactly, we really dont know what the trigger is..?? That's my point. I'm not sure if it's indicator driven or price driven..or.. both. Yes, there is some trigger but still not clear on what. If it is as simple as the STO leaving the 50% zone, I get that.

Hopefully hmaoui will offer up an answer on this question.

Thanks for your help

Hi Blut & TSD
Read post 1 & look @ number 2. HM is waiting for a pullback/retrace where the ST Ema,s will compress/converge/come together. This will happen in all TF,s .U then use yr Stochs/RSI/CCI to confirm. I am sorry HM is missing out so much by not using MT4.
Regards Nev

Hey Nevmar, so one would enter as soon as the EMA is touched?

Congratulations to hmaoui for the thread, i´ve been follow this thread since first post, and i´m very excited, i´m in forex since 2007, and i like this system, simple rules, high ratio p/l and low risk, although there are some points to review, clarify rules to entry and exit, keep going with excellent work, this was my first post in FF, but i´m following FF about 2 years. Thanks to all for share opinions strait to our main goal €€€. Cheers to all.

Hey,
sure youre right about the entries , but youre wrong about the Tradingstation, a sheet of paper would be be better then "scammers best" also called MT4

Blut to each his own.
I see newbies asking for indies & templates & this would be easier for all if HM was using MT4. I have used E Signal & still prefer MT4.

Hi nevmar

We are getting closer .. I get >>> waiting for a pullback/retrace where the ST ( short term ) Ema,s will compress/converge/come together. Then use yr Stochs/RSI/CCI to confirm.. I get that too...BUT ??? After the above conditions are met , where?? or Does he just enter??

or

Is it some specific price, the low, the pivot, at the close of the candle.. he mention different candle patterns.. Am I looking for entry somewhere along the candle formation. ..Once it touches the ST MA's... Are we selling resistance, buying support ??
As he states he uses a very tight stops so I would think the entry would be very precise given tight stop. Usally a larger stop would indicate a general area for entry.
