Check it out..... if you are going to be adding a lot of indicators and templates to your charts, even if it is just to take a quick look at them, just do this:

Go to My Computer > C: > Program Files > (your Mt4 provider) > templates

Now right click on templates and click "send to" > Desktop-create shortcut.
This puts a link to the templates folder on your desktop.
*********************************** **********
Now for the indicators folder:
My Computer > C: > Program Files > (MT4) > experts > indicators

Right click on the indicators folder and create a shortcut to your desktop.

DONE.

Now when you download any templates or indicators from FF, download them to your desktop and then click and drag them into the appropriate folder. Re-start MT4.

DONE. (I can load templates and indicators in 10 seconds)

Here is a little system I use on the 1 min.

the system employs a moving average, but does not look for a cross, price above or below MA etc. It is a statistical based trade.

The 800 SMA is a huge moving average, but since it is a moving average
price must touch it sooner or later. A friend of mine, a backtester who also happens to trade, backtested this on thousands of trades using Excel.
What he found was, the average lenth of time price is away from the 800 SMA on the 1 min chart is 5 hours (rounded up). Now, rather then count the candles (which can be done) I have an EA that counts the time/distance.
When price is due for a retrace to the 800, I draw a TL. When the TL is broken with a nice candle (no doji, shooting star, Ringo Starr etc) I trade in the direction of the MA. Choose a point above or below the most recent hi/lo as my s/l. Very effective. I do not use it when there is imminent news, market open, etc.
Here's what my chart looks like on e/u. ( I am currently short on e/u from 14421, on a different TF... the 800 is below my entry, so no conflict). ( EDIT: just so there is no mistake about this, the EA is not for sale).

I should have picked a different pair for the chart. price has only been away 1 hr. Just a pic to see what it would look like.

Is anybody will to share a successful 1min method they use to trade.

I would like to know what method Turveyd is using since he seems to be doing pretty good.

I'm here in the form of a sponge to soak up all the knowledge being passed around.

You can just right click on a chart and go Load then point to where ever it is if thats easier, normally desktop!!

Here is my template.

Useless EJ and GU day, next to no moves and the few moves that happened didn't reach my chop range or started then where up and over 30seconds later

Then I went out to come back to a great EJ reversal and GU bit of chop.

Typical.

Still +10% on the day, mustn't complain to much

Thanks. I will be setting up a demo account today when I get home and begin trading right away. I'm off work for the rest of the week, so I will really be able to get some testing in.

Yes, you must not complain about a 10% growth. That is incredible.

My SMA's have a really good Hit and Reversal rate, not 100% ofcourse

But there is abit more too it than that, sadly there is no substitute for hours and hours spent in front and screen losing your ass ( hopefully in Demo )

GU had a nice reversal off my 540sma not to long back, if you track back to before the move down you'll see the M1 chart putting in lower highs approx where the 23SMMA White line is, good chance there is a sell program running, I bet they are using that SMMA as a setup.

Would you be able to post a chart for this explanation? I'm at work and don't have access to any charts. If not, that's okay also.

Interestingly I use my Similar 540sma in a similar manner, I find the market tends to close @the that, but not done a stastitical study on it as per yet.

But I might!!

The issue is more often than not the SMA moves to the price with very little profit and high risk as your counter trend.

Maybe 800 is better as slower though,

I've got a 1440 aswell thats a 24hour one, but only use it on my M15 chart really.

Hey Turveyd, thanks for being bold enough to start a 1-minute thread. I'll be watching, and if I'm feelin' squirrely I might even add a chart or two.....

francish.... Did you place that .tpl template in your MT4 template folder ??
C:> program files > (Your mt4 broker) > templates
(I don't know if that's the answer you were looking for but it had been a couple hours so....)

We need a place we can get away from all the overly complicated. multiple TF's chasing your tail, if your not trading H4 your doomed, and nobody who trades M1 has time to post of FF yeah cause we are in and out of our trades every 60seconds doh!!

We just use M1 charts, we are no different really to a H4 trader, well obviously smarter as we are trading on whats happening live rather than what happened over the previous 4hours.

I wanted to check in and see how your trades are going

I have an idea about posting live 1M trades. You can use a quick posting method. Kind of a shorthand.

ogy160.77s1 <--- open GY short at 160.77, trade 1

cgy159.68s1 <--- closed GY short at 159.68, trade 1

this takes a couple of seconds to post, and would be a good way of tracking live trades. (and posting a daily tally end of day, to update totals.)

I'm thinking of doing the same. I keep a trading journal, but I think it would be better to do it on FF and share some of the results with other 1M traders.

Good luck with your trading!

LOL T - I like your style - I've come to a similar conclusion and have frequently posted that every trader must find a TF and a methodology that suits his - or her - personality......mine prefers the shorter TFs.

I trade cable - GBPUSD - around the Frankfurt and London opens and drop down to the 1m TF at these times or around news times. I only have one MA the 150ema on the 1 min or the 30 ema on the 5 min and I use these as a reference and short term trend guide and also for comparison between the Euro and Swissy.

I have found the Sweet Spots aka Psychological Levels and correctly applied Daily Pivots to be extremely useful - you can check out my posts in Acumen's thread. I'll post a chart in a moment showing these.

Good luck with your thread

Here the 6950 area was early resistance with the Lower High setting up a sell which ran down to the 6925 level and then down to the area of the MS1 pivot. A failed attempt on the 6900 level followed by a Higher Low off the MS1 level turned me into a buyer, which is being confirmed as price broke above the aqua 150 ema which is now begining to roll over.

So far volumes are low, so I'm really waiting for The Brits to start trading at LO before expecting any significant action.....

FYI price actually stopped at the 6935 level - a significant number for cable and also todays opening level - I hadnt activated this level in my pivots indicator, so it wasnt on this chart - my opologies....still, plently of "hit and run" trades for the 1 min TF trader....
