I've been trading forex for a little bit now (demo) and I'm doing good except for a few times where there have been huge unexpected changes.
I've since found out that these were due to NFP and FOMC.
At the time I had no idea what NFP or FOMC were or what they stood for. Had I known about them I'd have been able to exit the market for an hour or two and I'd have a pretty good profit. They account for a majority of my losses.
Most of the newbie guides I've found haven't mentioned things like that.
Is there any guide anyone could refer me to that has a list of different big events (and even small ones) that can affect the market, with a brief description of what they are and when to expect them. Or if an event is regular but not specifically scheduled on a fixed time/day, at least where to go to keep up to date on finding out when the next one will occur.
The only events I've heard of are NFP FOMC and CPI and I only know when NFP will occur. I'm sure there are more, both for the USD and the other majors. If there isn't a guide already, it would be nice if someone could create one and make it a sticky. I'm surprised I haven't been able to find one.
Thanks,
Adam
