With all due respect, there is an assumption that I have not done the work, so everything that follows is meaningless.

I dont use the indicator and am pretty sure most ppl who do have determined a high of around 30 or so for the cable charts. Just was curious as to what they were thinking.

I did not demand an answer......I did appreciate the one person who actually answered the question.

Ps..Jay...funny u would say that, do your homework and look at my charts, im hardly oblivious.......pot/kettle
I did not assume you didn't do the work, I knew you didn't do the work based on your question. Someone who did the work would be further along in their confidence in what they were seeing so they wouldn't ask the question to get something from the group!!!

Now the person who answered your question also gave you some information based on their opinion. I have no idea if they are right or wrong because its how they have learned to trade stairstep based on their experience. You will quickly learn that we do not predict. We wait for a good cz and then trade it based on our money management and trade management parameters.

while on a roll, I might as well share my last trade - woke up to the third leg so my risk was minimal.

Yesterday, at the Sunday market open, the price gap on EURJPY opened upward and the indi opened the Buy trade at 163.7 pips above the top of the SSBO box! Price eventually closed the gap and touched the opposite side of the box for a -188.4 pip loss. Interesting, because my SL=25 pips. I do not allow AutoReduceCZ to be true, as it drastically reduces profitability on this particular setup.

Fortunately, I didn't have limit orders in place over the weekend, But I thought I should report this scenario.

Many thanks to forexhard and xux99 for providing this exciting and profitable trading strategy. Nothing compares!

Started trying this system today, Took 2 trades on the eur/usd one on the first break up that i closed at TP, Second one was south from the same CZ and i held that one a little longer than 1:1. So netted a 2.4% percent on these 2.

My first CZ trades any feedback ?

They might speed up the journey to green pastures. Particularly, if you don't take full profit at QTP.

Welcome to SSBO, Pip_Pirate!

Off hand I can't find anything wrong with your pic/trades, at least the entries. I'm more curious to hear where you had set you SL, and also how you came to your QTP value.

Also, do not crop the SSBO dashboard off your pics. It's there for a reason. Thx.

Thanks FH, Well SL i put on other side of CZ + a few pips, in this case 5 as that was what I had as a buffer value.
I did not trade thru metatrader as i hate that interface for some reason.
So i transfered values to oanda so one or 2 pips might been off
.
I had 40 as QTP as the average breakout long was 66. so i trimmed it down to about 1:1 as my SL was lower and the long breakout was very slow(many bars) missing momentum.

Maybe I should trust the average more and go for more pips. Not experienced yet doing this. The system i trade live I just go break even and look at my trades some days later. I need some more experience in this short term trading before i can squeeze out the most of each breakout I believe.

The short was same on SL: top of CZ+buffer
Short firstbreakout average was 58. So I held as long as there was nice momentum and ended up with 62 pips. But my SL was abit bigger so I got about 1:1,4 from it .
Really liking this system it just feels good you know. Same things im looking for in my other system but this feels better

Not sure yet what my strategy will be going forward. better Risk vs. reward but lower TP hitrate. Or High TP hitrate fewer pips more lots. Or a combination

Will have to trade this live on my micro account for a while to find my way I think

"Also, do not crop the SSBO dashboard off your pics. It's there for a reason. Thx." Oh ok sorry will keep it next time

OK guys, time for some Spring cleaning. Before we jump head first into the next phase that I know is coming up, I want to give you guys a chance to bring your comments and questions up to date. So if anyone has asked me or Xux99 a question so far this year that you feel didn't get a proper response, just quote me the post and I'll go from there...

In and out in less than a minute. Quite possibly the easiest pips I'll make all year.
on the chart you didnt wait for the standard 2 bar after the buffer break entry just wondering why you went in

I understand what "market emotion" refers to, but where do you see it in posts 1-10?

As far as I'm concerned, if I have a CZ and it breaks, I'm in, I don't care about the reasons motivating the break, I just know I'll be in if it does.

its not in the first 1-10 pages bro its in pretty deep its one of the diamonds that have been left personally they made me keep going through the whole lot of it and sorry to say theres a bit of filler

theres a chart that shows the market going through different phases of emotion - fear euphoria etc etc and how czs sit

its not key to the system but it frames the system in relation to the market well and helped me appreciate ssbo this is important because its a discretionary system at heart just to regurgitate whats been said

I can't find the post - oh well, just wanted to know if there was going to be an alert for the QP? I am scratching my head trying to think of anything else and nothing comes to mind at the moment. Of course having a head cold doesn't help my synapses. All I really want to do is curl up in bed and sleep.

My BAD this is already been taken care of.

Hi all

I came to FF specifically from a recommendation on the SSBO technique and has been reading up for the past 1 week. Background was that I have been demo trading using other techniques for some time but when I went live, I was on a losing streak! Yesterday, i put the indicator to work and bagged one win and one loss on my live account. Still trying to figure out the ideal settings.

Going through the posts, it seems that there are various ways guys here apply SSBO, some with more than 30 bars and even some with just 2-3 bars on a M15 chart but are still doing well. Will post my trades once I am getting a better grip of this great technique

Hello everyone, I would first like to thank Forexhard and all who have helped shape his system long boxes. I've read from 1st post, translated into Spanish, so I struggled a bit. At present I do well with the 1st system boxes moving them by hand and when not he change it, I just wanted to thank Forexhard and his team for letting me know about this system and I am very happy to see that to come this far and for a long time more. I will continue translating the thread and if I have any ideas or improvements that may help you are you know, thank you very much, good Trading.
