I am presently working on a different approach to a Chop or Range filter, shown below will be what it will look like. You will be able to set the amount of chop you will tolerate before taking a trade, this is something I will need to gather data on to come up with a good number to use here.
I will need a few weeks to test it as I need to gather data and for that I need a market going through various phases, I will then graph the Chop Number and compare it to the actual PA and see if there is any confluence.
If it works good it may replace the pip filter.
It will not be able to catch the entry to chop, as I don't think anyone can do that, but once the chop is started it should keep you out of trades until the chop is cleared.

The bar graph will show red to the left if the PA has a downward bias chop and green to the right if the PA has a upward bias chop. It will show yellow when it is within your no trade chop range you have set, in this case it was +-50 pips. So you can see we are outside the chop range with a down side side bias with 2 red bars, the chop reading at this time is -89 (below -50), as shown on the top of the graph.

Post #238 update:

This is where the short trade in post #238 is at, if this were a live account I would move the SL down closer to the HAS but still above it.

Well, here is version 4, the only changes are the addition of MM and the Spread filter,

Good Luck.
Thanks seller9, have had this loaded & running since you posted it.

Noticed last night I had lots of indication arrows on the screen. I think they are the 5min indications on H1 chart. Halted the ea and F7 etc to switch off their display. After restart, the arrows still show.
So halted again and removed ea.
Arrows still around - oops ?

Will remove them manually and reload ea with the 5min indications on H1 switched off. See how it goes.

On the trading side, well not good at all. Ranging market is a killer. Will up the filter a little, as I had been trying it below your 200 recommendation.

cheers scalpz

I am trying something a little different, after looking at some charts and comparing the HAS to the Coral I decided to try replaceing the HAS with the Coral and see how they would compare. To early to tell so far, but using the same settings for both, below is what has happened so far when the last trade was opened by both. Of course you may be able to tweak the HAS 2 15 2 15 settings to get a closer match to the Coral. When looking at some charts the Coral looked to be a little smoother going through the chop, with just a few less direction changes so less whip saws.

Another thought was when oppening a basket trade in the direction of the basket and there may be a pair or two moving in the oppostie direction, why not reverse the ones that are going against the direction of the basket, this would be easy to add as a selection so it would be automatic, I will also be testing this, I will try the H1 as the direction indicator for each pair.

I really don't want to discourage you or anybody following this thread. The fact the nobody could find the profitable way to use it, doesn't mean that there is no way. Probably you are just the right person to discover this secret. So just keep trying.
My personal experience shows that to make profitable the system based on mtf Heiken Ashi, you should trade without stoploss or any deposit protection at all. It is either TP or MC system. Of course you should have a pretty decent deposit, you should trade tiny lots, be prepared to very...
Mr formatter,
the fact that you failed many years ago with those conditions does not mean you should not try other conditions that would work, your personal experience to trade HA without SL and tiny lots and to wait for months to hit that tiny TP is rubbish and just shows what kind of trader you are, lazy trader. The person who taught you gave you the 6.3.3.4 settings it failed and you refused to explore other settings, and you come out here to condemn a whole thread.

It may interest you to know that based on that HA that is not working for you, I have scooped about +2050 pips, on 15min TF of EURAUD alone from the Dec 17 till now (2 months). it even survived this choppy times.

A guy wrote an indicator that could backtest without using the mt4 backtester and I sat down for very long hours changing the settings starting from 2.150.2.150 down to 2.5.2.5 over a period 2 years data, and eventually at a particular settings the result was very good. I left it for 2 weeks and I came back and performed same tests allover again and the result was the same.

on Dec. 17th I whipped up a single pairs EA for it, loaded it on a vps and left it there on EURAUD, Hear this I just withdrew good $$$ from that account.

If you cannot work, stop discouraging people who are working, by telling them it cannot work simply because you cannot make it work. I would have given you this settings as a gift but no food for lazy man, by the way you already concluded that HA cannot work so there is no need anyway.

@Seller9
carry on friend you are on the right path, you are not wasting your time, you are adding value to other people's life. Don't let anyone discourage you.

For those who want to do some backtesting

with different settings and currency pairs try

this indicator.

The pairs and the weigths must be the same number, for example: pair:GBPJPY,AUDJPY,AUDUSD
weights: 1,1,1

EA v3 and v4 Update;

For those of you testing the EA on several accounts I have added code to the EA so when you use the "HOT KEYS" they will only activate your command for the active window.

Here are updated version 3 and version 4 EAs.

Looks like I got one trade last night, a short one, it made a profit and then was closed out by BE as can be seen by the log.

Will wait now and look for a possible re-entry.
