Still Basketting

update from my DEMO trade posted above

I'm trailing the stop with Kos Heiken Ashi smoothed + alerts indicator, M15 TF (inputs 15,2,15,2)
the snapshot is from my H1 chart,yellow VL is my (late) entry

you can see the pairs I trade opposite,UC and GC
I 've traded 14 pairs as per default 'cos it's a demo trade
GBPCHF is not workin' fine while my "old" opposite pair EURGBP would have been profitable if traded short
newbies must learn this stuff before going live, Basket is a live creature always changing

btw,even with "wrong"pairs. banked $1000 demo profit and it's + 1300 now
DC was right about volatility from the Fiscal Cliff skit

Hi guys ,


2-3 months ago i started reading the 2008 and the t101 thread posted by GVC , i started trying and testing the indicators and i got the feel for how the system works. AND then i found out about this thread and read from page 1 to now twice

first i would like to thank both KOS and GVC , you guys are very inspirational to me . i am only 19 and i really want to work hard to learn everything forex.

I understand it will take time to learn and i have lost in the markets before unfortunately .

i currently have a problem however , i bought a ssd and reformatted it and now the basket indicators or all my indicators don't show the input tab .

i was wondering if you guys would know how to fix that as i couldn't find the same error .

You must set your Equity Trail to true and work out how much it must trail by.
By default it is set to 0.3.

Play with the settings till you understand what they do.....

Dear GvC I put in true in Equity Trail and modify it both to true , And now its not working , and setting is 0.3
GvC Now BSKT 14 is working and will see if it is working BSKt 5 is not working and still waiting for colour change , Not yet ,

This method is so awesome. Thank you Kos for reviving this basket method. I've been super stealthy and decided to create an account today. I read the original posts a year and a half ago and was using the T101 Monitor that Carl Rodriquez created. It worked great but was difficult to keep track of the pairs as they moved. This method makes it simple and I look forward to lassoing thousands of pips with it! Thanks also to everyone for their contributions. GVC your bot is working excellently!!

your results build a solid confidence in this trading style of baskets.

I've thought over an idea:

the SL might have another option. If daily close on the wrong side of the HSA, then EXIT.

this rule may be adjusted loose or tight, for example, two consecutive days close wrong side of HSA or 1 weekly bar on the wrong side of HSA.

I have this idea is because I feel that the basket is very very loyal to the HSA (as you trade the HSA very faithfully -- it has the edge of trending). so if the HSA is disobeyed, the trend is probaby reaching an end. We don't really need to wait for the HSA to change color to exit.

I read all charts you attached. If we tighten SL using this idea, seemingly we'll end up more pips+ for most winning basket, except that 2011 and 2012 do get worse without a sound re-entry method.

The subsequent question is how to re-enter, if anyone applies this idea.

I am lost here. I dont see the basket for 60 minutes in the offline charts am i doing something wrong? Also when we want to buy , sell or close the basket how do we do this as the chart is offline for the basket is it not? I click on it and it doesnt even allow me to trade

There are three ideas that come to mind for reentry.

(Trading long in established uptrend, for example):

1) Watch a lower timeframe than your trade timeframe for HAS to change from one color to the other and then back again. That is, if you are trading on the 1h chart and the HAS is blue, you can watch the 15m chart for a retracement that changes the HAS to red and when it becomes blue again, you can enter long again.

2) On your trade timeframe, wait for price to close lower than a short term MA, then close above it again, then enter. (See chart)

3) On your trade timeframe, wait for RSI to close below 50, then close back above it again, then enter. This seems to be about the same as using 2) above. (Arrows show it.) Take your choice.

The last two seem to work better if there is a strong trend. Basically, it is showing that price is realigning with the stronger trend and the retracement "should" be over. Does it always work? No. Is it better than guessing? Yes.

Could I be wrong? ... Use good money management.

Does anyone know how to delete offline charts from MT4. I have quite a few inactive ones in there and want to get rid of them and start over

look in the history folder in the MT4 files on your hard drive (mine is C:/program files/MT4). if thats not what your looking for hunt down Hanover and his thread on MT4 question, pretty much know's all you need to know about mt4

This isn't about Karma, but if some good is coming our way then i'm sure it won't be turned away.

A few of us agreed some time ago that when we start making the profits we would all do some good with it, essencially the plan was to donate 10% of the profits each month to a local charity - this way the wealth would be spread around the world, no one talks about it or even knows how much the others are making, but it helps keep your perspective on life by looking around for the next group. Next step is to start an actual trading fund for the 10% and look for bigger and longer term projects.

So back to the thread, Kos has shared this here for all to see and use, take a quick count and see how many have already been and gone. like all threads people feel the need to add and change, then lose sight and move on to the next system, eventually they will either quit or find a system that suits there nature, most are looking for high turn over and fast pips, this system takes too long to create the wealth they seek. But a few will stay and I hope they too will learn to give a little back - it's good for the soul.

agree with you MPP, at a point during one of the BOJ interventions and trades went sour. I posted that the time
has come for men to be separated from boys. that was the point where many people drew back.

This way of trading is not for many people, judging from the number of downloads of the attachment kos.zip at page 2 about 3420 views
from Oct. 24th till now, that means a lot of people come here but they left probably because our pace is too slow, many traders especially the new ones want in-out-in...

On giving back, it sure takes the grace of God to realise that whatever God entrusts into your hand is not for you alone
