Hi, if I may add some of my thoughts .... I think a private setting has its pros and cons. As you've pointed out, most of the materials are already presented here. For those who take the effort to read, re-read, ask, clarify and practice, they will be able to pick up the necessary skills to survive in the market. The main advantages of a private "forum" would be the (1)freedom to share posts/videos beyond the constraints of FF, (2)a place to catch up and chit chat without cluttering the thread for newcomers and (3)maybe the possibility of sharing trading strategies in greater details (not sure how feasible as every trade is a different trade by itself or maybe we can start a small trading game as you've mentioned earlier).

That being said, I also feel that there's good value in FF. Besides the tools it provides, there are different views presented by a more diverse group. Even nasty posts can sometimes be beneficial as they train our mindset as traders and help us to see clearer our response to adversities. Each good/bad experience has its value to draw from. Furthermore, it is also less taxing for you as an individual to give your thoughts in comparison to maintaining a private "forum".

All in all, I would say that if you so decide that a private forum can help to better relate to friends here, we should have a go at it. Otherwise, I think many here are very much contended with what is already given

Have a blessed new year!

Hi.

i had been thinking very deep about if i should carry friends to a private environment.where there would be freedom to move towards whatever direction we decides to go.

The issues i am thinking about generally are these.

If I reinvent the wheel.
Can we achieve what have been achieve here.

Just looking at FF's main page alone already i find difficulty navigating thru.
Think about those day nearly half a decade ago. Just to get proper unbias calander of event would had been a task. without pro pages from reuter or bloomberg, it would...

Hi Phil,

Like fti, I personally feel that your mindset, understanding and trading surpasses many in this thread. In fact, I've learnt a lot from some of your posts.

Blessed new year.

Hi fti

'Maybe if you or some friends have suggestions forward, we can discuss, lay things on the table and see if we can find the best way forward.'

My thoughts are this, as you all know I make no secret that I am dyslexic so reading and internalising is slightly harder for me than many others here, seeing live trades/charts posted is easier for me to understand some things and may be for others as well, though I realise you can not post charts of experience on patience, self control, understanding personal emotions and the scorpions...

fti,

sorry for my untactful initial emails. Should really read it first before commenting

Greatly appreciate your wisdom and effort and once started reading blog, could not stop ! So here I am after 150 pages Looks like I will read the whole thing.

In large degree what I do is quite in line to what you describe. Not so much in technical details but in concept.

I have picked subtile details from you which I have to digest and test before accepting them. AOW is on my to do list as discipline is my weak spot.

I have 17 yrs on/off experience and had couple of good runs. Last one now lasts for 2 years. I get overconfident and aware of dangers as I have been rolled over by it before. Now I see myself as beeing on a winnig streak which will end after 3 risks down from top of acc equity. That keeps me alert. I risk 5 to 10 pct per trade and use disaster stop which has not been hit yet, so salvation, when needed, works fine - so far.

Have question for you as this approach use for 2 years + 1 year papertrade --- did approach you described here stop working for you for periods of time ?

as i said, similar to what fti explains with differences

swing trading and use disaster stops as i check market 2x a day. Decided this way as trading full time (when attempted in one of my batches) took health toll on me. Also brokers playing games when shortterm which is not the case if one in wholesale environment. There is price to be paid in p/l - so be it.

I look for scorpion scenarios to profit - when full moon fish mates even in face of death. Finding these points in humans is my aim as they are hopeless and easy to take candy away.

Sorry, cant go further and explain how to do this. My boss watching me

cuth,
there nothing for me teach.
is basics and what peeps can learn.

i not even show the way i analyse with technical analysis because is available everywhere, although many schools of it.
but in fact i have shown, but few caught it.
i feel is best no one get that i do , then they become carbon copies.
and without the experience and a full bag of trick, may not know how escape traps on rigidity.
is not so difficult anything to get like the mindset. is not easy get one of a professional trader without sacrifice. only willing horse and the ability put heart and soul may take there. i in blur about the future plan, was thinking if you felt like discussing about greeks or making us see more of ourselves. what discussed in past, i humbly attempted and is fair.

mindset, things are better now. you can sort of tell these things. thank you for bringing me this forward. i did play kim's game when it was being discussed. not after that.

regards

is good to have you here. always.

is...
OK for you, a New Year Gift.
Kim's game the way scouts plays it is just intro.

The real Kims's game ismind game.
Is basically mind excercise.
I play that game all the time.
When ever I feel relaxed.

No need cover, stuff and remember camping equiptment only.
is easy excersise mind, peg, recall, file.
your mind is a very powerful computer.
when you think?
Do you think in colour or just black and white?
can you remember smells , feels, sounds, taste?
Is easy start with things you enjoy.

for me i have favourite places in the world where i sit close my eyes and file the experience.
can still feel the environment,
how the wind was pressing against my face.
the smell of the breeze.
the rush of the breaking waves.
my chewing the peanuts. can even taste the peanuts.
but these places no more in the world.
only still exist in my file, in my brain. But i can call it at will.

thats kim's game in advance stage.

If you train the mind regularly.
You will be surprise at your observation , and filing skills develop.

Happy New Year.

regards

In fact is a wonderful game,
and i noticed that my skills deteriorating in very fast manner.
Stuff you reading and learning here may be pages long.
In reality, is summarised into split second decision capabilities. If you train internalise it.
is not so difficult really.
But of course if you want , you can make it difficult for your mind.
and you will never experience the power of it.
But every journey begins with 1 step. and going 1 setp at a time.

Does your mind control your body, or does you body control the mind.
For some peeps is controled by external.

If you still not get it.
watch dog whisper videos, and watch him control the dog.
imagine you the dog, just get a feel of process.
but no touch dog's nose only.

You still not getting it.
You playing with your mind?
release it allow the mind control the process. and train allow mind to control.
Only give it objectives to achieve.
The process , you need release allow mind do its stuff.
Takes some time.
But once the mind controls, then it never stops.
Maybe when you old like me, its stamina wanes.

regards

OK fireworks time soon, in a couple of hours.
Happy New Year All.
