Hi,

I haven't written anything about the indicator to date - there are a few threads on FF that concentrate on the approach and I'll include these as reference.

here's a quote from Trading Supply & Demand Zones

Thanks Britpip, very interesting. Will add this to my charts.

Time for a weekly position check

eurnzd 17/12 long @1.5593, S2 profit close 28/12 @ 1.6023; +430

audnzd 18/12 long @1.2509, S2 profit close 28/12 @ 1.2635; +144

gbpaud 18/12 long @ 1.5435 S1 & S2 profit close 24/12 @ 1.5540;...

One for the watch list as next week unfolds after the holiday

TDI Day is currently at a level that produces a cross and 200+ pips retrace. Still a lot of downward pressure, especially with today's candle retracing.

Week is approaching a Fractal Low which often acts as a demand zone

If TDI crosses I would look to a TP1 @ 50pips and move TP2 to BE when TP1 is hit. The temptation would be to leave TP2 open and look for Add-Ons on the H4.

Patience is the key - I will not trade before Jan 2nd, regardless of what the Sunday and Monday candles get up to!!!

The key to demo charts is learning what worked and what didn't.

Go back and review the trades and understand what was happening in the run up to taking the trade and then what happened to to the trade after entry.

Did you follow your trading plan for the entries?

Did you stay in a losing position too long?

Did you exit a winning position too soon?

Some of my losing trades looked appalling when reviewed in the cold light of day! It hurts even more when it is a live account :-( However, that is the purpose of conducting a Lessons Learned review and don't forget, keep back testing, keep improving.

Here's to a wonderful 2013

Thoroughly agree Britpip, especially when it comes to what we would call the "What the!" factor; looking at the trade afterwards and thinking, why did I take that in the first place?

One question about the II_SupDem indicator. Your chart show the graphical representation with a coloured arrow up or down, mine shows a 'p' or a 'q'. Any idea why?

Tried doing screen capture but it doesn't seem to work so I've attached a chart.

Thanks

I got bored with that on the screen so I nuked it by shifting it off of the screen - use the settings in the screen shot

Watch List Charts - Charts showing APD colour change (bear in mind, these are in process candles on a Sunday) - wait for day candles to close before making entry decisions. I have no plans to trade until Tues/Weds.

aud usd bouncing off of 200EMA

nzd usd - probably new demand zone being established

jpy pairs generally pausing - may resume previous trend with a break of a Fractal High

eur aud recent APD colour change with a move away from a Supply Zone

eur nzd start of TFDI cross and APD colour change - gbp nzd similar with a move away from Supply Zone

aud chf / nzd chf / gbp chf all with similar patterns

AUD pairs strong through the night - the moves started at the beginning of the new Day Candle , so 4pm PDT.

AUD CHF was my only entry.

Entry was off of the Fractal High break which confirmed the TDI cross from a couple of days earlier as well as the APD colour change to white. Additional confirmation with the move away from the Demand Zone.

ATR 7 for TP1 was 50pips which was triggered. TP2 has been moved to BE (I did have it set up as a 50 pip Trailing Stop initially to match the ATR 7 and TP1 setting)

Now moving to H4 chart to monitor TP2 and look for Add-Ons.

Great way to start the New Year :-)

Here's the H4 chart watching for Add-Ons. Still running with a TS of 50pips.

Nice part about this stage of a trade is that TP1 has triggered and at this point TP2 has 50pips locked.

Only really need to check in on each new H4 candle to see if a Fractal is setting up - 4am - ish (depending on the alarm) / 8am / 12noon / 4pm (new day candle) / 8pm (I'll be sleeping at midnight!).

hi,

I had Euraud at sell with TP1 hit (109 pips) and trailing at 60pips with more than 70 locked in.

And audchf at buy with TP1 hit (83 pips) and trailing also at 50pips with more than 60 locked in.

Definitely a good start.

Now watching the H4 chart - new candle started at 4pm PDT (30 mins ago).

Fractal High has been set, although if the current candle goes higher, the Fractal will disappear.

Currently we have good trends on the RSI 10 across the higher time frames.

The 200ema may come into play as resistance level on the H4, although the Day chart is clear sailing for 8- pips until it hits both the 100 and 200EMA level. The next major Support Zone is 160pips away.

I have a pending order in place for the Add-On based on a break of the current Fractal High - Day ATR 7 for the previous candle was 63 pips, so that will be the SL for the Add-On.

Once the Add-On is triggered and moves into profit, I will look to run the SL settings off of the H4 Fractal Lows as they are set (none in place as yet), OR, will take the bottom of the previous but one H4 APB.

Watch List = Day Charts

EU = currently stuck in a range and looking more likely to head south away from the Supply Zone - waiting to the Day Fractal Lows to be broken. RSI 10 slowly moving lower

JPY pairs stalling again - some are running into Supply Zones such as usd and cad - TDI has been hovering around the 68 level for over 6 weeks on the current trend run - lots of entry points during this time as TDI drops and then bounces / re-crosses

USD CHF may just be a reverse pattern of the EU, still worth watching for a break of the Fractal Highs and move north from the Demand Zone

aud and nzd pairs continue their recent activities - watch for re-entry opportunities and H4 Add-Ons.

Took these 2 trades today:
Reasons:
1. Cross of TDI
2. RSI overbought heading down
3. Reversal candle signs
4. Top of Channel
5. Semaphore
6. Good currency strength ratio

Hope it goes well!!!
