SSBO, the slayer of bad trading cliches.

Hello everyone,
I was playing around with the SSBO settings after having read the User Guide and have some doubts on setting the parameters ;
going through the thread I read that one important parameter is not to have too many weekly CZ's (four or five max ) my question:
does this parameter go in combination with the Trade Set Win Ratio close or near to 100% ??
thank-you and happy New Year

I am done the month and am looking forward to next year. During my walk on the beach this morning, I was reflecting on how grateful I am for this thread. I have a confidence that has been missing in my previous trading efforts. Granted I have a lot more to learn. Interestingly the learning is not about identifying CZ's, those are self evident now. The learning will be about money management, trade management and lifestyle. I am happy with my 4 hour time frames and have Cable on a 15 minute chart so I can post charts like earlier this week. I have also been playing with RTN's method and what I earlier dismissed find usable during those times when I am in the mood to trade shorter time frames while I am taking care of domestic chores.

All of this to say thank you FH from the depths of my heart and happy new year to all.
Have an amazing day

At the beginning of the month I had my reservations about trading during this time as it is my first time trading for the month of December, and decided to just sit on the sidelines and watch and record my results

These are my results for the pairs that I watched

EU
CZ: 12, Trades:20, Win%: 75%, Net pips: 284

GU
CZ: 16, Trades: 23, Win%: 74%, Net pips: 213

OIL
CZ: 16, Trades: 36, Win%: 58%, Net pips: 287

NU
CZ: 8, Trades: 12, Win%: 92%, Net pips: 300

EJ 5min
CZ:4, Trades: 6, Win%: 83%, Net pips: 140

EJ 4H
CZ: 4, Trades: 5, Win%: 80%, Net pips: 330

UCHF
CZ: 17, Trades:21, Win%: 95%, Net pips: 380

All the reservations I have had before are completely gone. This was just a normal month for SSBO. Can't wait for the new year now, So I can start trading again

Happy New Year to everyone and thanks to everyone for all their efforts in making this thread into what it is, which simply put is just amazing

Wow, I don't know how to respond, except to say that I am deeply humbled by your comments. I'm just a guide that you chose to follow, and around here there are many applying for the position. What ever you've gotten out of SSBO is directly proportional to your efforts going in. Congrats!

Here's to an even better 2013!

That makes a total of -87 pips... can you explain that?

Great post and research C345.

joancb, you had access to the same info that C345 (and the rest of us) did, so spend an extra hour researching if need be before posting your questions -- especially if they involve another SSBO member.

Hi guys/gals,

Got two questions which i haven't been able to find an answer for.

1) Is it possible to get an alert any time a new range forms? This way we know when to place the limit orders. From my understanding the signal alert built into the indicator is for when you need to open a trade and not when a new range is created. I've read the manual on page 1 but it doesn't go into much detail about this option.

2) Does an order manager exist that would automatically double the lots of a lost trade?
Here's what i mean:
Buy trade failed, sell trade initialized.
Need to modify the sell limit before it's initialized to double the lots of the lost buy trade.
However, if the buy trade was successful, cancel the sell trade limit order.

This is outside the scope of the indicator functionality and i mean no offense to anyone by going offtopic in #2.

FxH and all SSBO friends: I have the same feelings as those expressed by SedonaPipper in the most recent post. I too, am grateful for this thread. FxH has turned my trading style upside down and that means from red to black. I always tune in each week to catch up on the latest results on what happened over the week. It is a highlight of my week. I still trade hand-drawn cz's but I am enjoying reading the stats and settings on the indis used by you guys that are using them. I am looking forward to trying some of the other TFs some of you are using. I have stuck to 15m.

To all of you: Happy New Year and to you FxH: From those of us who have chosen to listen and do the work you asked us to do, I say to you "Thanks for teaching us how to fish." Joy to the World! and that includes SSBO traders.

I completed reading this thread for the 2nd time. I am amazed at how little I retained the first time through. Reminds me of a study on learning - we retain less than 10% of a new subject after 20 days or something like that. Doesn't matter, what matters to me is that I took the time to slowly reread the thread and evaluate the veracity of this method in relation to what I know from having spent years working in the financial world. Now I am disappointed in myself because I can't think of a single question that has not been covered in the thread somewhere. I even think the question "Why is the sky blue daddy (FH)?" was answered.

I am primed for the next 3 months of forward testing to see what I can generate. I have been working on my money management, trade management and lifestyle management questions over the holiday's so I have a clear idea of what I want to experience and what to expect. I am almost complete with my statistical spread sheet to track relevant information. I have a solid answer for each column of information I am inputting. My journal is in Microsoft one note, I am a typist, have been since 1965 so writing by hand, though beneficial was never something I was going to do long term.

My next task is to complete my trading manual. A self generated document that is my guide for how I participate in the market and why. In my previous posts I have been focused on life style. There is a reason for this and it is, of course, answered in the thread. The best traders of this method are the people who can set a trade and forget about it while they go on with their life. I have spent a lot of my life in front of a computer screen and am wanting to get out and spend more time in the world. I still have a bucket list that needs to be completed and I can't do that in front of a computer screen.

I am looking forward to the new year because I run a viable business form my computer anywhere I am in the world.
Have an amazing day
