Hi Oswin.

No, at all.
You trade reached StopLoss setted and accepted by you already.
There maybe is optimization problem but this is different story.
The EA works as optimized setting allowed it to react.
Try to find setting which give you acceptable result.
Will be nice if you be so kind and share it with us.

I strongly suggest you to do so on demo account first.
Please read page #1, which can be very helpful.

Sorry for the silly question but how can i change the time inthe oanda metatrader 4 to adjust it to the 23gmt thanks in advance
Dear Ridge.

To change your GMToffset:
open MT4 with your broker;
go to Strategy Tester(top left side on 7th position to the right "magnifier icon");
choose your Tokyo_17 from Expert Advisor box pop-up menu;
Symbol GBPUSD as it is designed to use;
on the right side open Expert properties box;
scroll down to the GMToffset and set value to -5.
finally "OK" and Start test.
Try +/- 1hr to find best result for Oanda.

Good lack

any setting problem for this??
Hi Oswin.

The fatal test trade (SL)was taken Friday 1,15 short before NY session with 53.86% date base modelling quality if I accurately recognise.
To me your date base is not accurate and give you false picture of the test.
Please, try with 90% date from "History Center" download again and see what happen.

""""""hi mac

thanks for your infinite patience and time.......

I backtest both v17 and v19 in the oanda metatrader and they give really bad results......I set the gmt to -5.

i bactested all versions and the only that gives consistent benefits is v2

I understand that is not normal right?

Thanks again
Even a clock that doesnt work is right twice a day"""""""

Hi Ridge.

It is very hard to say because you didn't present any outcome from your testing or optimizing.
These EAs may not be perfect, they are not holy grails, however they can give you relatively good result after correct optimization.
I had in the past substantial connection problems with Oanda broker therefore I moved to Alpari UK with much better result.

It is time consuming to find correct setting for these EAs, therefore main Geoff's intention to create this thread always was to work together and share settings, ideas with all and learn trading.

So let's try again .

I trade similarly to this as one of my strategy...however, I have not tried the EA as yet, buy after NYC and Tokyo open I trade EJ primarily on the h1 and buy/sell above/below the 50 sma...do look at at 1 or two other factors. Can the EA BE MODIFIED to incorporate the 50sma and trade on EJ...EA/gj also trade well.

Hi Dejan

Yes, it can.
This EA was design for GBPUSD at Tokyo session mainly, but you can set any MAs you like, back test or optimize and use with pair you wish to.
But DEMO FIRST, if I can make any suggestion.
Read post#1 at first, please.

Good luck.
