At 07:04 (cst/us) I shorted the $/Swiss @ .9438, sl @ .9457; 2 separate micros with one TP @.9403 & one @ .9365. 4H TF.

Feel free to comment. I remember that BigE prefers the 1H for the NY session but the 4H looks good so I'm in.
edit: 11/7 - This trade basically spent the day drifting sideways after mid morning so I closed it with -8 pips. Of course it went my way during the night but I usually get stopped out in the London session while asleep so I'm ok with minus 8.

hi guys

i have been trading this system for couple of months now with relative success, i really wanna thanks BIG E and senior traders for all the help to noobs, i kept on reading the thread untill 300 ++ pages but

recently , i notice that prices doesnt go much , i mean somedays yes u will be having good trades with more than 50 + pips but i dont know whats going on , is it EU economic probes or the constant QEs of federal reserve but dont guys find liquidity problems

im on GMT+8 so i can trade H1 on london session sometimes eventho i prefer 4H , i trade 8 currencies by tying to select pais that move together, yes sometimes u will hv correlation probes but im trying to analyze first act later, so my mean concern here is the charts slowing down or whats going on from june until now i see good trades but not so much pips as b4, am i making sense here??!

again, thaks to BIG E and senior traders i dont want to mention names in case i forgot one , really you hv done good job teaching noobs and being patient to flooding questions

Gold has been consolidating for a couple of days now. This morning the long position hit the stop loss, and i turned right around and enter the short position at where the red vertical line is pointed. i dont know what's wrong, it was up a bit when i was doing boxing day shopping and after i came back, it already hit the stop loss... Depressed. Maybe i should just do some fake money practice first till i master this method. Anyone with any suggestions about how should i get this straightened out. Cua i don't think that i was doing anything entering both positions uncorrectly....

Scott, I can try to help. Yes, 5 points is way to tight for a 4 hr chart. Suggest you find a copy of "Trade your way to Financial Freedom" by Van K. Tharp. Best book I have ever read on how to set SL &TP, plus much more. Then stay in demo until you can trade 6/8 weeks with paper profits. You might consider changing you chart template to match FX-Pros's. I have found waiting for a bar close outside the 8EMA hi/low price action channel in the direction of the 72EMA filters out many poor trades. Best of luck - Lou

i already code this strategy in my ea with adding couple of position if price goes against my direction, and already run my ea at zulutrade AMG CAPITAL since last week..

Here we go, i just set this up 4HR chart and see how far this will go. If there's anything that doesnt look right to this trade, please shout it out for me guys. I entered this position when the current 4HR candle has 1HR life left.

Thanks

I would sugest getting an EA that sets hidden sl/tp/trailing stop--prevents broker from sl hunting

First of all, now are not normal market conditions since many banks/institutions are closed, so I woudnt trade till the 3rd of january or so. Well, maybe some scalping but thats it.

Beside that, on the H4 I only enter short trades if the crossover or bounce happens below the MBL (yellow line). Vice versa for longs. If you go over your charts, you'll see, this raises the success rate quite significantely.
I also like to wait for the candle to close below /above the 10 EMA, unless I see a really A+ PA setup, with additional factors speaking for it.
It seems EU is consolidating for the last few days, so I would like to see a break of the range low and would then look for a pullback entry.

Hi Sfg,

What you mentioned has triggered my curiosity here, can you give me a quick guide about how to do that?! I have never used EA to set up for sl/tp/ts before.

thanks

Hey, Scott the candle is stil above 5EMA , the candle is still forming and TDI is still above market base line. Pls try to be patience when u want to enter trade. Beside that price action is showing a little retracement. Patience is the key on this warfare!

Hi Quezoy,

Thanks for the quick response. I debated myself for quite a while before i entered this position. That is exactly the concern about the MBL, the way I was looking at is that MBL is also sloping down towards the 50 line. And I hope MBL will eventually flattened out right on or above there.

And now I have another question here. For the 4HR, it looks that it is kind of a decent or not-too-bad set up, but when you switch to 1HR chart and TDI is going flat or possible hooking up. When you set a position seeing this king of 1HR and 4HR contridition situation, would you normally just ignore the 1HR TDI?

Here is the 1HR chart now for euro:

Thanks
Scott

Hi Mecherine,

You are quite right here. I have been trying this method on gold without patience, and all my three attempts turned out to be huge failures.

No, I dont check lower TF when I trade H4.
I do trade intraday on the M15, but thats a different thing.

You can check the site of an active TMS member here, dcginc. He's got some good videos and articles about trading with the TDI, focusing on H4 and H1.
