lvoe goes in experts folder and is set to sl15 tp 120 be 15/1 ts 30.If you want to change the set you must run it again from experts. You can adjust lvoe lines directly on your chart with mouse.
Looks great!

Thanks Kumetto!

I have played with a MA and Renko but I prefer the cloud as it shows support and resistant easier for me.

If you have success and feel more comfortable trading with the MA feel free to post your trades on it. In the end we all here to learn and expand out trading tools.

I will continue to use the cloud i just want to make sure Renko is still used and we dont move this journal to candlestick charts. Its hard to find a forum or place to discuss Renko and Ichi thats a big reason i started this.

Hey Richard are you trading this system or another renko system? Please post some trades you take I'm here to help you along. I'm sure as you trade and post you will have other ideas we can all build on.

Hi Jacioux,

First, I really like the Renko - I think it gives a much clearer picture of what it happening to the price action. And, I like the Ichimoku Cloud for its simplicity. The combination of these two has been VERY helpful to me in making my trades much easier to identify on the charts and the trades are more consistent now with fewer losses.

One thing I added to your method is that I watch a 2nd Renko chart (set to 4 instead of 10) which seems to give me a bit more precision in my entries. I wait for permission from the Renko 10 then I use the Renko 4 chart to tell me when to pull the trigger. The negative to this of course is that it takes up more precious screen space.

Thanks again for all you do here helping us wannabees find our groove and make some money!

Richard

Sense this is a holiday week i am not trading this system. If you are following the Explorer its not running this system its running an EA so all trades you see are for an EA i am demoing. I am opening a separate trade account Monday next week that will track only this system...

Have a good holiday week all

Im back from the holiday week with a few changes to my cloud settings. I was using 8,5,3 but i am going to bump that to 5,8,13. The main reason i am doing this is i dont have time with a lower setting to and enter and close all the trades on the demo account. This new setting will push the cloud out a bit the draw back is there wont be as many trades as there are with the 8,5,3. Sense i just using a demo for this journal I still want to show trades but not focus all my time on the demo account.

11/27 Trades - Sense i have opened up the new account i have to wait for it to show but either way i was just using it for a copy paste of trades. So until i get the account info all i have today is the 2 trades taken last night EUR/USD and EUR/JPY. The yellow cloud is the new setting 5 8 13 and the blue one is the old setting.

From what i can tell there is not much difference as far as the entry. EUR/JPY I could have gotten in earlier but each entry was still a winner. I am just testing this as i move forward. I want to see and note each day when an entry was or was not taken. I am noting and tracking the time a trade is taken and how far it runs.

So its been about 3 months so i am not even sure who is still using this or not. I have found myself with a little but of time and thought i would post in case anyone new happen to come accross this.

I am still using this system i changed my settings to 5,3,5 for the cloud and bars are now set to 8. Same entry cloud cross but now i trail a stop loss of 14 when 16 pips is hit and the stop loss is 15. The times are all the same i only trade 3:00 am MST to 5:00am - Then again at 6:00 am to 10:00am.

I am attaching a new chart of what my setup looks like.

You can also follow i have attached an Explorer at the top of this page its a live account.

lotsofmoney -

I have to agree when i started out sideways is where i would lose a lot of my gains. I dropped down to lower bars such as 8 and 10 and focused more on what time i was trading at. I went from trading London open to Europe close and soon found out that if i focused more on the first couple hours of the London and US open i had a better winning percent. Right now i trade about 4 hours a day.

I wish i had a fail proof way to keep you out of sideways trading but i have yet to find one. My best success has been calling it a day when i hit 4 losses in a row. Renko has great break outs that you can ride major trends at the start. Just be careful when using EA's for Renkos as you can tell Thursday and Friday killed me i left an EA running with the mind set it would be fine and as you tell it killed me.
