A couple of my thoughts:

1. Today is month end/ book balancing.

2. Tomorrow is a bank holiday in Europe, but not the UK or Wall Street.

3. The week may drag as all await the French and Greek elections come the weekend.

I have to admit that I am a current affairs addict, and as such, do consider the implications of the funnies to trading, although I try to stick to the technical, and view the release of news as a means for the market to use as an excuse to further whatever direction the market wants.

Of course, it is good to have some idea of what does, is, and can provide the impetus to the market; the problem with this, is deciding which releases will impact, and which are just noise.

It’s not an easy game to be in, hey...

nothing doing for me today.......woke up early for London. it looked like a slow day so went back to sleep and when i got up at 6:30 again there was a nice selloff for European equity indexes.

ditto on that score my friend. i do believe the study pays off and can offer some nice trade opportunities especially when mixing technicals into the overall picture.

five three! you trying to get me shot at? or worse maybe, dispatched for a tour with the French Foreign Legion in North Africa....

1.3265ish looks like a critical R number and it has come close a few times so maybe it breaks and heads for 1.34.....hope so if you are long Chonchy.

like i said, my take it has become an upside down market. under normal circumstances (without the constant threat of CB intervention every time the Dow drops a 100) i would be short all over the place just off last weeks economic prints however the mantra is 'bad news is good news' for the levitators.

Bottom line? The one thing that stood out when I spoke to people, especially in Italy, is that Europeans have been down this road before. A few of the locals referred to the U.S. as a "young puppy;" meaning that the U.S. hasn't lived through thousands of years of regime changes, ground invasions, currencies being reduced to worthless pieces of paper, power struggles that have caused entire countries to disappear...
