No offense taken.

I forgot there is a distinction between a citizen and a resident.

FYI i dont like politics :-) so thats never happening!

Thanks for clearing that up.

Quoting JMulford
No offence but that is some really poor advice. It's not a matter of being a US Citizen but a matter of being a US Resident. You can find more information about what that means on the IRS web site. If you knowingly portray yourself as a "Resident" of another country when you are not. You are at the very least guilty of fraud, and if the Allmighty IRS finds out...well to say you are screwed would be the understatement of the year.

If you don't like what you find on the IRS web site, (few ever do) get in to local politics.

Citi and Saxo have a strategic partnership. Citi provides 'Global custody services' to Saxo.

As to how any of this is relevant to pepperstone is beyond me....
some people are so concerned about pepperstone being a white label of axitrade, i was helping make a point that even the largest companies engage in strategic partnerships.

If you are going to be a white label of somebody, axitrader would be a good one. Unless you want a razor account you may as well go with axi and trade a wider range of instruments.

I wouldn't trade synthetic derivatives with anyone. Indexes, oil etc are best traded on their native exchanges not against 'the house'.

I agree, the closer to the source the better.

What does AXI mean when they say ECN Style Trading? Thata sounds like, "It is just like this only Different"

Why are they called 'ECN style'?
Many brokers now 'claim' to be ECN, though MT4 can't really achieve what is known as 'true' ECN features such as market depth, partial fills, VWAP etc. Rather than claiming to be an ECN pricing broker, we prefer transparency and are calling it 'ECN style', as it has some of the features of an ECN whilst still using MT4's impressive functionality, with the added benefit of AxiTrader's ultra-tight spreads.

Yeah, my platforms are acting funny to. They won't save their new layout settings properly, and the objects on my charts from some indicators i removed won't go away. Even if i delete the objetcs and delete the indicators they come back.

Dam, i really don't feel like reinstalling everything. Wasn't part of my weekend plans... My other platforms that did not get an update are fine.

Not sure about the news thingy. I just wanted to vent a bit...

Update: Even reinstalling does not fix the issues... hmmm.

Reverted back to build 409. And renamed liveupdate.exe. All back to normal.

Hello. I also have similar problem. I tried to install "spread indicator" from Pepperstone website. After that I delete the indicator from C:/Program Files/Metatrader - Pepperstone/Experts/Indicator and after I delete the indicator I still find the indicator on my Metatrader and I still can use it. Not a big problem I admit, but still irritating. Does it a known problem and everyone have it or there is something wrong?

Through doing a bit of research build 418 has been an issue for many traders. Problems with EAs, DLL function calls etc.. Build 419 seems to correct those problems according to other traders.

Has Build 419 been released by Pepperstone yet? Anybody got it? I still get a request to update to 418 which I decline each time - I'm still on Build 409.

MetaTrader 4 Client Terminal build 419
  1. Terminal: Fixed display of dialogs in the case of incorrect or corrupted settings of the dialog coordinates. Now the dialogs are never displayed outside screen coordinates.
  2. Terminal: Fixed terminal crash during shutdown with one of the dialogs open (list of objects, indicators, global variables, archive of quotes, etc.)
  3. Terminal: Fixed display of text information of coordinates of the horizontal and vertical line objects in the chart, in the case of scaling of displayed fonts in the control panel. Now the size of the text does not depend on the scale and has the same font as the main information in the chart.
  4. Terminal: Improved terminal interface in Korean and Turkish.
  5. MQL4: Fixed return of double from the DLL functions.
  6. Fixed errors reported on the forum and in crash logs.

This persone seems to be having similar ones.

It's not saving some of it's settings for some reason.

Save/copy your program files before you upgrade it. You will need them if want to revert back to your previous version.

I am on a win7 x64.

Cheers!

Did anyone have any problems with Pepperstone this morning?

The connection to Pepperstone was lost on my laptop and PC, all my other broker platforms were working fine.

When the connection came back 5 positions were closed out in front of my eyes. I am nowhere near my margin limit.
A £2500 account and I am using £63 margin. The positions that were close were 0.01 lots so there is no reason why they should close them.

Why on earth would those positions be closed out when they were coming back in my favour.

I am not using an EA.

I definitley...
Believe it or not: I currently got the same issue. Whenever I open a position, the Position gets closed after a couple of seconds.

What's going on?

EDIT: Solved, for some reason my MT4 Client was malfunctioning. Before the Problem happened I've triggered some DLL function calls. Everything seems OK now.
