Is this what you are looking for?
No, but thanks for at least answering and making the effort.
I appreciate it.

I have gone through the Zip from page 1 of this thread but the document I am looking for is not in there.
I spent the last hour going to all 11 of the threads you have started and opening the Zips on the first page of each but no luck.

I know I have seen somewhere you put some pairs like the commodity pairs into the section that can go on a long run with no retrace.

I have an idea for a strategy that I am setting up on an EA and it would suit pairs that are not renowned for going on long runs, it would suit ranging pairs like A/N.
I have an older version of what was posted. Range of all the pairs but the info would be old. I think the info was pre 2008 so it would be outdated.

Hello Bob,

I am trying to learn how to fish.

In the below chart I see price action above the red line (weekly trend) so we are in an UT.
Price action is above the blue (daily) MA line.

There is the first daily resistance line at 1.00377 so I have set a buy stop above that line at 1.00410
TP below the next resistance line 1.00480
SL at the support line 1.00188

Comments welcome.

Another question, do you have a PDF or chart where you have placed different pairs into either trending or ranging. I seem to remember reading one a...
I am still trying to understand your question. Page one posts 2-5 show pics of pairs trending and ranging. Is that what you mean??

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion, I really did word it badly

The file that Jemook posted is helpful because it shows the volatility number, pairs in the 1 and 2 category are what I am thinking of using for counter trend trading.

But I am looking for a post or PDF (I cannot remember which as it was last year sometime) where you list pairs that are renowned for going off on long runs without a retrace and those that are good ranging pairs.

Editing to add that I think you called the runner commodity pairs like any pair with AUD NZD and CAD in, did I understand that correctly and are there more to add to that list.

My plan was to demo counter trend trading with as many ranging pairs that have not ridiculous spreads (avoiding those prone to running in 1 direction with no retrace) using one of your techniques, maybe sixths, using 0.01 lots.
Then if the trade heads in the wrong direction by 100 pips add an EA I use to recovery trade lots .0.1, 0.02, 0.04, all at 100 pip intervals.
Never having more than 4 trades open on the same pair. If price moves another 100pips I close out the oldest position.

the sequence starts again. so 0.01, 0.01, 0.02. 0.04, 0.01, 0.01. 0.02 etc.

I did not trade full months for Dec and Jan but they both were in the 5-6% increase of account range. Feb has not been that kind to me but it is not a problem at this point. I will be very busy with my school here in China. I am facing some of the most difficult decisions in my life so trading will be taking a back seat for me over the next couple of months. I will be doing some trading but the time I spend on it will be much less. Basically I am facing my very survival with my business and school here. It is a very tough time to be doing business...
i understand your situation there. sometimes they change their policies and make it hard for foreign business people.

Have you thought of relocating to another city there? I hope you have a good solution to your situation there...

It is not the local govt. but what is coming out of Beijing. Just found this one out yesterday.

This goes with the increased taxes they hit foreign companies last fall.

It appears to me that the process shouldn't impact an English school owner too much as long as you have kept your book presentable.

Also, Chinese, even the comm., have more respect to teacher than you think. You'll do fine.

Good Luck.

I am not an English school owner. My school is only for foreign children, think American school in China first through twelve grade. If all the business people are chased out by regulations and taxes I dont have a school. Chinese students are not allowed to go to my school.

They do that to all foreign companies. Equipment cannot leave the country too and forcing large corporation to leave. By doing so, they have gain the technology to continue to produce for export etc...

Hi Bob, looking forward to your post on the results. If its not too much of a trouble do you mind posting some examples for guidance as well? This two months have really been slow for me, feel as if the system is losing its 'shine'(no offence intended )
