Hmm again
Well what started with a promising 2.8% win, another loss on the 4 hourly has put me slightly down for the day.
The 4 hourly had a good week last week. Unfortunately due to work committments, missed two entries. One was a break even trade, the other a 6% winner. A good week should've been a stellar one.
Anyway, Scott has now made me an EA for the 4 hourly so after testing on a demo and making sure it does what it should, that will be set up to go live upon my return early November.
Thanks Scott

Hey thanks I really need a break!
So much that I thought OK, I'm not going to trade the London open today as I'm going away.
And, as I knew it would, entry short from 1.4985 area would have produced at least 3% today!
Expect all my methods to perform out of their skin whilst I'm away - when I was away for a week earlier in the year missed a 10% week - so bloody frustrating this business

Steve's back from holidays :)
Well hi all
Had a fantastic family holiday to Kenya (paid for by my parents) & just arrived back this morning.
Once we've got some pics together I'll post some here.
Remember what I said before I left? That's right, my systems would perform out of their skin....
In the 10 trading days I missed, the London open method would have realised a profit of 24.94%.
Gutted.

the market knows u're in holiday, so they move according to your system. i think u shouldn't mention u're back, and trade quietly so u are more profitable eventually

LOL, I'm beginning to think you're right!
Last week even approaching that one was back in early August - I was in Portugal that week tending to family matters.
All I can do is keep on keeping on in the knowledge that these things do work themselves out over time.

Hi Steve
I have been following your London open trades every day since you started and my results have always been the same as yours within a pip or two. I continued to follow your system while you were away and from Oct 21 - Nov 04 the results were actually a loss of approx 3% (based on 25 pips = 1%).
I believe the different results is due to the time change from summer time to standard time. Europe made the 1 hour time change on Oct 25 but North America did not make the change until Nov 01. I'm not sure if your data feed for your charts is based on US time or not, but when you look back at your charts for that week, I believe your backtesting results may be based on entering at the Frankfurt open rather than the London open. The data on my charts is based on North American time and when I was following your strategy live during that week I had to shift one hour to compensate for the one hour difference. If I had gone away during that time and came back this week and looked at my charts without taking that one hour difference into consideration from Oct 26 - Oct 30, I would have also calculated the huge profit that you stated.
The good news is that you had a good holiday and actually saved money by not trading those 2 weeks!

Thanks for the kind words Jason
I'm just an ordinary guy trying to tell it how it is - sometimes it's not just about pips & £'s but finding out about yourself.
It's great to see the journal has inspired you along the way

Don't forget to set the times on that EA to the new times you are using. They are programed in GMT which is the same as ODL if I recall.
