From SocGen: The scaled-down deal passed in the Senate addressed the fiscal cliff but did nothing to address longer term fiscal health of the nation. This puts the US rating at risk for a downgrade. However, credit rating agencies may decide to wait and see what emerges from the subsequent talks. There is an implicit new cliff at the end of February related to the sequester and to the expected exhaustion of extraordinary measures related to the debt ceiling. In my experience it is usually more reliable to study a system of pivots that indicates to the trader what the market has "negotiated" on a given day or period to trade direction.
Fundamental analysis is easily akin to voodoo and other such practices such as reading the entrails of dead animals to tell the future. In market fable you hear of those who use it to win trades consistently - but if you believe that you would believe anything and or have just started the business of trading.

last night i just closed my EU short position that opened from end of december only for a bit of profit after hold quite big of floating loss for several days.. and it's time for long.
