The left is hoping for its first Socialist president since François Mitterrand's re-election in 1988, which would be a rare event in a Europe that has swung to the right in recent years and weakened the left. If Sarkozy ... (full story)

that is not likely to test 1.28 region. becoz I think market has already adjusted the price assuming large probability of Hollande's victory. A down is expected but not that much.

    • priced in most i think and a greece exit will probally create bit panic but after it a godd buy of eu i like draghi his tone last time he didnt mentioned any intrest rate cuts or whatever. So pure looking at the macro picture and intrest rate differintials i dont see eu drop to parity or whatever everybody is alking about let's see the economic nrs if they pick up slowly. Also if you look around this site i am not huge fan of forrums everybody is short eu all doom eu there like even special threads for it kinda funny but it makes me believe eu wouldnt go down taht much anymore expecially that teh majority of the retail loses makes me confident that whe close to a bottom in eu.

    • If Hollande wins (more likely) - in short term EU should drop but on the longer term, it will push Euro/USD back higher. Y? Becos market is scare of change, although there is unlikely to have any change from Hollande as France has no money to change. THerefore a lot of Hollande talks are empty, but he will cause some panic to the market as coalition with farter Merkel will seems to be "destroyed" but am sure in few weeks time when it's dusted he will stand aside Merkel and opt for austerity measures and not growth cos there is nothing for growth or push growth in France at the moment.

    • The Euro (as with all risk) was headed down anyway anything else is crap. Look at the charts - the markets are in crash mode and if what i see is anything go by folks are gonna be shocked how deep things will sink regardless of the French election outcome. Just sell on clear bounces all gates south are gonna be broken.
