The U.S. economy added 115,000 jobs in April as hiring slacked off for the second straight month, the government reported Friday. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expected a 163,000 increase. The unemployment rate, meanwhile, dipped to 8.1% from 8.2%, as nearly 350,000 people dropped out of the labor force. lol... seems you forgot your elementary mathematics..

the statement is clear: "The unemployment rate, meanwhile, dipped to 8.1% from 8.2%, as nearly 350,000 people dropped out of the labor force."..

it implies that 350k people comprise the 8.1 unemployment rate...they are accounted for..
      Previous: jobless: 465K Jobless = 8.2%
and US created a net of new jobs ( total hired- total fired) = 115k..ergo 350k jobless= 8.1% unemployment

the question now is the pace of sustaining in HIRING new jobs which would surpass the number of those who lose jobs...

Hehhehe...i got great pips from the dip..Euro is parasite..it goes down 2 steps and rises with a ladder..

    • Explorer 101- I think you are confused, there are millions out of work. Not 350k. The 350k was removed from the math. Thus the pool of people shrunk, thus there is a higher % of people working. Just as if you removed all the unemployed from the equation you would have 100% employment 0% unemployed.

If 1.3166 and 1.318 can't be broken will be hell and that's where some smarties shorted, well done. This may sideway trend at 1.3086/9 till then end of today, happens the same for the past few NFP sessions.
